Cricket Wireless Mass Outages

Yes Cricket users you have no signal.
People are reporting outages to the Cricket network across the country on a website called ” isdownrightnow.net
If you just go to the site and search for Cricket, and when you find the page for reporting outages, just sit there and hit refresh and look at all of the people reporting in they have an outage, and look at where they are reporting from.

Doesn’t look like Cricket to AT&T switching is going all that smooth.

the Cricket website is also going in and out and forcing you to re-log in. The amount of time you stay logged in is about 1/5th the amount of time it takes for Cricket’s website to accept your password.

From New York to Texas to California, all of Cricket cell phone serviceis down.
Nation wide cell phone outages.
since 4pm Central, Cricket has been out of service. No calls in or out. If you call your voicemail from another phone, you can log in and check your voice mails. You can even delete them. Nothing much after that. Your phone will still show that you have voicemails that have not been deleted or heard.

Odd that this happens right after TeamViewer gets hacked then Myspace gets hacked.

How to opt out of Cricket Spam

I don’t like the idea that they can watch everything I am interested in, or things that freak me out so I check it out to see what it is then advertise to me based on my searches. I also don’t like the idea that I can be chasing my dog down the street to get him back home and get stuck behind a fish market trying to get him to come into reach and start getting advertisements based on seafood. Or that I can say the word “seafood” and BAM I am bombarded with seafood ads.

Why Android Apps Sometimes Won’t Update

I find myself sometimes wondering if my tablet is broken, or if my internet connection is flakey or if my tablet or phone has a virus. I sit for longer than I’d like to admit to myself, trying to get apps to update. I find that some apps will update, and some just won’t . No matter how many times I try, no matter how close to the router I sit. Nothing
Update Failed
Well I figured out why the apps sometimes will not update on my Android devices.
I moved them to the micro-SD card.
That simple.
You move the apps to the micro-SD card and for some reason, Android forgets how to function.
When installed on SD card, sometimes Android has trouble updating the apps, sometimes has trouble even running the apps.

Here’s how to get the apps to update.(extreme case)
You have to move them back to the phone , then uninstall them.
Format your micro-SD card.
Take the micro-SD card out, reboot your Android and then reinstall the apps.
Then reinstall the micro-SD .
You should be done.
If you want to move the apps back to the micro-SD card, that’s all up to you.

You could see Update Failed  again though.

I however will not be moving apps to my micro-SD card on my android. and will not be buying a large capacity micro-SD with my next Android purchase. There’s no reason for me to.
You can keep your Update Failed  notices.

Hands On Galaxy S6 Edge

Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung Galaxy S6

If the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge really does have Gorilla glass as I have been told, that did not feel like I expected.
The S6 Edge was very thin and light weight. The screen was wide yet narrow.
What I felt while holding that phone was in no way similar to the reviews I have been seeing. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, though it felt smooth to the touch and nearly seamless, it felt kind cheap. Not inexpensive but felt poorly made. Almost like a doll house wide screen tv. as if it would just crumble the first time you set anything on it. Reminded me on the Sanyo Zio but much more costly. With the curved edges and the plastic feeling screen.

No idea how you put a screen cover on that phone. Or even a case that would be effective and still allow you to use that silly edge area.
Sure that gives you more tools to add but what if the screen was flat, that stuff would still work and a case would serve an actual purpose.
The menu system didn’t feel like anything innovative has been created either. and yes I am quite used to feeling teh sides of the phone while I navigate.
The battery Specs online say 2,600mAh in the system settings, while the comparable budget phone ZTE Grand™ X Max+ has a 3200mAh battery.  the battery could be better.

Not interested in the Galaxy 6 Edge.

Is Computer Technology in a Slump?

Sure computer technology is in a slump.
A slump created by the lazy and braggadocios.
The ignorant with money to burn, and the poor who want to look like they have money to burn.
It is now taboo to show people Technology you created from scratch. It makes you look poor and unworthy of honor. No longer do we feel the pride of learning new things and piecing together our ideas and things we learned, into one space to make the things we need.

We have built ourselves into a corner of ignorance.

We used to hack our phones to have web browsers they didn’t have before. We used to get our phones to surf the internet when no one even considered it useful. and we did it with phones that didn’t have a touch screen or a scroll wheel. We created our own mp3 players to suit our phones per model and we would burn that to a 3.5 disk or to a c.d. so we wouldn’t have to rebuild when we changed our phones, we’d just have to modify to work with the version of Symbian on the phone. but now, everything is right there for free with ads, or for sale. No one has to learn anymore. We just nod and smile when someone calls you stupid for not knowing about some app they just downloaded that does what you did 10 years ago, manually. And for god’s sake you can’t tell them this, or they will call you a hipster.

Tech trends are a shame.

All websites are starting to look the exact same crappy HTML 5 over simplified big buttons so people can use it better on their little phone displays that no one can compile a good Java or flash player for.

The days of complexity are gone.
Now are the days of “look, shiney and simple”
and complacency.

It is as if we have dumbed ourselves.

There was a time when software exceeded the abilities of hardware. Which caused the hardware makers to try harder. build better. To evolve.
But now the software makers aren’t trying to create the new.. the more bundled. the bigger deal to make people buy it.
They want to make it easy and super light weight, so you pay again to buy the other crap that used to be in the older version, one by one.

We have become the fat consumer.
And tech… The world for the outsiders… Became fashion-ware for the trendy.
where abilities and functionality no longer matter, just the name brand and brag-ability.
$10,000? Made by apple? Of course it has features functions and abilities that their $150 watch does not have.
In the day when we dreamed of that, we dreamt of hackability. The ability to mod that computer on your wrist to have your own functions to fit your own needs. Now you just download someone else’s idea (app) that best suits you and like it and show off what you downloaded.

We had our DVR. Our home entertainment center from a computer we built with a series of hard drives stacked together to burn our tv shows onto while we worked. With hundreds upon hundreds of function. Those are gone and now we have it in a “cloud” (some hairy dude’s server in his basement Shhhh) and we install an ap for some of the functions and Features with nothing to want to learn.

Mycrk.it Text message

No way I would click a random link, so I took it to my pc and typed in the address from the text message. got a redirect to a legit page on Cricket’s website
which had this video in it.

as we all know, the company that owns cricket is called “leap Wireless” and the company that owns AIO is AT&T. and we all know that AT&T just purchased LEap Wireless, that is why the merger of AIO and Cricket is on going now.
Basically, Cricket people if you go in, you will need to change your plan.
Aio people, will not need to change their plan.

Knowing Aio and Cricket are now owned by AT&T…
Everytime I find a good cell company, AT&T buys them out. Eventually I have to go in and trade my phone for a phone compatible to their signal. and they always offer me “a great deal” where they give me a phone at the “same value” as my previous phone… which means that if I bought my phone in a discount sale at $29, they give me their current $29 phone.. Basically… I have to downgrade drastically because a smart company does not have a decent phone on sale at that time. or a voucher for $29 off of a phone, and all sales will be crap phone.

Count on that big ol brick phone being offered for the value of your current phone.

They have done this to me twice now.

My first phone was AT&T and it wasn’t even good enough to be a nokia brick. It had a metal antenna and couldn’t even play snake. AT&T charged me $120 for that phone. So I later found some off brand company local to my area that was offering new $175 nokia phones if we trade our AT&T phone and pay $25. or something close. so I pounced on it and grabbed one. one month later I am standing in line at AT&T trading my phone in because they merged with the company that stole me away. What did they give me? A phone the size of my shoe.
I couldn’t get a signal anywhere. I called and asked for help and repeatedly got told “hmm that’s odd, no one else is complaining, pay $85 with your insurance and you will get a replacement for that exact model phone”.  So I started looking for a new company. I found the one that had that blue alien with the football shaped head and a snorkel on top. Primco… Finally got my first flip phone. It was gold, made by audiovox. Pretty slick looking. Paid $29 for it. with in a year, AT&T bought them up and ……BAM… same stupid Nokia brick..

Here it is after 14 years of swearing I would never go back to AT&T…. They bought out Cricket.

Ok you didn’t get your Iphone 5

Ok, so the Iphone 5 never happened and you got the Iphone4 with expansion pack. Do you really care?
Did you really think they would pop out a new Iphone only one year after the release of the Iphone4?
Iphone 4s sounds about right.
Sure you are upset and next week you will buy one like an apple zombie. They do this to you every single year.
You apple freaks give me a head ache.
First disappointment, then redemption with a hokus pokis act of a long winded story as to why the new phone is cool and you need one because it allows you to do something you could do already. And now it’s the “must have” phone. Every single year you do this.
In the end. The Iphone is just a phone. In the end the Iphone has a crappy battery life. If you use all of the cool features you added to your Iphone, you will drain the battery and not be able to make a phone call. yet every year, knowing it’s like this, march like a good little mac zombie and buy one.
Get over it, quit griping and start buying your new Iphone 4s already so you can be one of the first people say “yeah I bought one, they are awesome you should get one” and then when everyone gets one you can say “yeah I’ve had mine, I know it all, big deal” in the most smug manor. Like all mac tards.
Oh don’t forget when you are bragging about it, line for line, quote the article you read that hypnotized you so you sound like you know tech.

Google Buys Motorolla Mobility 12.5B

Google is purchasing Mototolla Mobility for $12.5 b
That’s right. Google is buying a cell phone company.
Now maybe Google can deliver what they hinted we would get with android, to begin with.
Anyone remember the hint that if Google sold you a phone for dirt cheap, they could bundle it with ads?
I mean imagine buying a brand new phone for $5 or something cheap, and paying a monthly fee of $5-$10 as long as you get video ads and text ads and picture ads sent to your phone on a regular basis. GPS always on and you getting local discounts and deals.
Does this mean that Android phone will become a bit more reliable? does this mean that some some Android phone willl have better o/s implementation and optimization? Or is that against the law?
Let’s see if Google delivers.
News Source for the purchase

iPhone 5 release date: Big FAKE

iPhone 5 release date: Big buzz, few facts – CNN.com.

Apple executives have already confirmed that the iphone5 rumors are fake. There is no current release of the iphone 5 going to happen.

Be real everyone. The Iphone 4 was released less than a year ago. Apple will continue to sell those for as long as people are stilll buying them. Heck the Iphone 3 is still selling like crazy.

So do not expect to see an iphone5 for anywhere less than two years from the original release date of iphone 4
