I was writing a book a while back “How the internet was won” .
I was explaining what I see happening and what could happen with the internet. Most of it was just me posting ideas and hoping I would go back later and clean it up. but now. I have lost the heart to even try. Because it is all coming true. From monopolizing the internet on us, to spying on us to learn how to confine us. To us making our own internet and hiding in what I called “the outweb”. but it came to a flaw. The way they persecute everyone and say that freedom fighters are identity thieves, The outweb would have been everyone who wanted freedom, but also surrounded with dirty people that no one really wants to associate themselves with. The problem there is we would be forced to censor the outweb, or all be considered “one of them”. You know that mainstream media would have said it was full of graphic illegal images and a bunch of corrupt death fetish freaks.

I’m crushed to say, the whole sopa thing, was just a name to use while they enslave the internet, one group of people at a time, in a manor that doesn’t scare everyone. Since Sopa failed, everything they had in plan, is happening anyway, using other laws to make it happen anyway.

All of these illegal arrests. all of the illegal deportations. All of this seizing of personal property from people who are not even in the country that is persecuting them.

Television tells you now what is cool. Don’t believe me? look at a Facebook. It sucks everyone complains about it yet everyone is still there. And everything on Tv and on the radio promotes Facebook. While Facebook gets your information willingly from you. Where you go, what you do, what you like, who you associate with.

April first 2012, I will be disconnecting myself from the internet. I can’t partake in this free realm gradually become just a media input device. I’m dropping my phone. I am dropping my computers. I am closing down all but three of my websites. They are paid in full for the next seven years. So they will still sit as they are.

Soon, there will be no place for people in countries with insane government, to say “hey, someone helps u, our country isn’t like the mainstream media says it is we are being mistreated” Soon there will be no place for you to sell your own personal music online and make a an income on your works, without signing with some major label that will end up making three times your income while you still make exactly what you would have made without them, because after all, we all know who controls all of this anyway. Don’t we?

I will be back next year to see how things went.

Operation Black March

Operation Black March, if you haven’t heard. Is a call to the public around the world to not stand for the laws that are being created in every country.
The motive is to tell the people funding these law makers, that we will stop buying their products to fund them to fund the law makers.

Operation Black March

This is in response to sopa, pipa, acta and the like while the owners of megaupload were arrested, a judge in Florida shuts down a website for defamation and while France is going after Google because Google gives their maps away for free.

Many are comparing this to the gas boycotts and how useless those were.
Which that is a poor comparison.
Best explained as
by PpcLock on Reddit.

As similar as it may sound to the boycott gas thing.

It is very different and will have a definite impact.

The gas boycotts: last for one day, you will just get gas the next day, and the store will have one low day and one extremely high day. No loss

Media black outs : You don’t have to get media. You can make it to work and you will not be like a homeless guy at a buffet, when the blackout ends.

Operation Black March. An attempt to show the media content owners who pays their bills. and who should not be making the rules.

How you can help in Black March…

Streaming Media Package

Ever just want to watch what you want to watch when you want to watch it? I do. I fell in love with Joost when it came out. Then some comic company or what ever that was, bought out Joost and crushed it. During that same time, HULU came out and became a sensation instantly. Forever I have been looking for a Hulu app for android. Haven’t found that yet.
Netflix, well netflix has been around for a good while now. I have not yet used netflix for anything. Simply because I haven’t see anything on their site that I wanted to download, that I couldn’t already get at HULU or Redbox. If redbox would stream, we are looking at a whole new mess.
Don’t get me wrong, netflix is an innovation and creativity that moves us into another direction, and I am thankful for what they are doing. Maybe I have just been using their site wrong? Do they have more than 50 movies? because that’s about all I see there. And they are all low budget films that I find. Why would I want that?
but if you are a Netflix user then My latest sponsor is going to be a treat for you. how about a device that you plug directly into your Television set, and connect to your internet connection, and get streaming videos from netflix, hulu, amazon, last.fm and other stuff.
Roku + Netflix = Instant Movies on your TV.Starting at $59.99 with 30-Day Money Back Guarantee.
I looked on their site and a lot of the stuff they list, kind of looks like a double listing of the same thing, just with the word “pro’ added to the end. Yeah that kind of makes my eye twitch.
But still the whole concept is pretty cool. If your tv can’t already do all of this. Many kind of can already. but again, if you don’t want to spend $700 on a 46 inch tv that can stream media from the internet, then get the roku box. If you don’t already have a netflix account, then you may as well go ahead and open the link I have over there on the side bar (the red ad that says netflix) in another tab and get that ready. Can’t hurt to set up for the free trial they have. and if you see they have more than 50 videos, tell me how the heck you found them.
The roku box comes in three flavors right now HD $59,XD $79,XS $99. Great prices. No clue why you would want anything other than the $59 player. For $100 it better comes with a TV tray and a remote.
From the look of the device, The roku box is small enough to fit inside a hollowed out grapefruit. That’s a kind of small. The look of the Media Streaming device is pretty slick. Currently the only color is black. I am sure it will come in other colors, once everyone knows that apple wont sue people for creating anything remotely close to their inventions. Oh hey I know what it looks like. The smokeless ashtrays of the early nineties. Just without all of the ventilation around it.
Looks like you can get all sorts of Media streaming to your TV. They call them channels, hmm I dunno, sounds more like websites to me. But currently it looks like about 12 “Channels”. This is a great way to watch internet videos you normally watch on your computer, straight through your tv.

The Dj Booth

Two Pieces of software I use on the iworkwithmusic website to edit music from live events, and to add back ground music to videos I record, that really do not have any content worth listening to. Like when shopping and I video the display rack in a store. Who wants to hear crowd noise?
Music Editing Software
Music editing Software
Magix Music maker. I have the first released version of Magix when it came bundled with a video editor. I also have Magix music maker 16 and the latest HD video editor (not currently at home to tell you what exactly I have). With these two I can make some very high quality videos of shows and concerts. Like here is my friend’s band Sexion 8. I had to record all of these on a cell phone and then bring up the sound, if you will notice in the middle of the Iron Maiden song, the mic blows out on the cell phone. Even though the music suddenly high pitched, I actually was able to bring that from a crackled distorted hiss of a whisper, to a sound that allows you to at least hear that the band was on cue and on mark and the lyrics are understandable. At the mark when the mic blows out, the audio quality changes tragically. but again, if it was not for Magix 16, I would have never gotten that far. I do believe they have a music restore software, but I currently can’t look that up on their site

Digital DJ
Music - virtual mixing

Digital Dj has a huge tray of sounds and loops that can be used to make tons of music and creative work that can keep you listened to, and your crowd happy for hours.
I myself am no dj. Not in the least bit

but I pulled this off

Rage against the Machine Cover

Re-Mixed

The video editing in the first and second, was using the first edition of Magix (I’m fast with that one, been using it forever). The audio mix added to the second video was using Magix Music maker 16 and Digital Dj.

Yes the links on this page are sponsored. Took me forever get with these guys. I have been sending Magix some free traffic for quite a long time. because I recommend Magix for just about everything video and audio related.I have done this for years.

Home Made Cloud Concept

The whole “cloud Computing” title seems to have changed recently. So Now I have come up with a low cost concept to cloud computing. A concept that avoids any server fees for what ever site you are storing your media on.
If you have a network at home, or at least a router at home and more than one computer on this network. Maybe a spare computer that is old, out dated and kind of useless for most of your common everyday uses, but has windows XP or better, this will work for you.
The low cost cloud computing Concept I have kicked up is, just share a directory to the network, set router to allow one specific port open, get winamp for your phone, have win amp set to connect to your home’s i.p. address. In the directory that has the shared files, also share your winamp playlist file.
Set phone winamp to connect through specified port.

i will have to get back to this concept later when I haven’t been drinking. If anyone with a positive comment wants to chime in. Please do.. It will remind me I wrote this (when I get the notification in my email).

Thank you firefox for the built in spell check.

Netflix and Godaddy

Should both Netflix and Godaddy really be crammed down our throats every time we boot up our computers?
Have you ever been to their sites?
Netflix, they sponsor every dang podcast I listen to and every online video I watch. (well not all but many). Have you ever looked at the shows they offer on Netflix? I mean even Redbox has a larger, better and higher quality selection than Netflix. I truly do not like Redbox. I stop there all the time, smear my snot on the screen as I flip through the first page or so of videos and walk away feeling ashamed I did it again. Heck the Redbox movies are just a dollar and I can get up, grab one movie and be back home watching it, before it ever even comes out on Netflix. If it shows up there. mean while you hog up all of the bandwidth using Netflix and your spouse is mad and your kids are mad.

Godaddy. You ever decide you want to buy a domain name? Ever find that someone bought that domain name but never did anything with it? Yeah that person is typically on Godaddy. It’s like everyone found a place that has a known name and decided to buy from there. Kind of like Walmart. Everyone knows it’s there and the people that shop there, have no idea why you call their stuff crap. Well the people who buy up domain names and do nothing with them are called “squatters”. That name sounds a bit negative, right? Of course it does. It’s meant to. I mean you have a great idea for that domain name and that jerk has 700 domain names and does nothing with them. One of his domain names you have a brilliant idea and are not able to use it now. Now your Websitedesigner dot what ever domain name has to be 1websitedeigner1 dot what ever is available.

Cool they have a domain auction section on their site. That just further provokes even more people to just buy up random named domain names and sell them at scary high prices. Meanwhile their prices are no better than other domain registrars.

Would be nice if the ads would just lay up or be in relevant media.

What’s more likely to happen, I will end up renting a Netflix movie and find a Godaddy commercial at the beginning. Or register with godaddy and find a netflix ad in some banner I can’t remove from my site.

Android Must Have Apps

Now these picks are not by some internet standards or by any other influence other than me seeing extreme use in them.

Shop Savvy Bar-code scanner. Yeah the results have not been up to what I expected but hey, they do offer a chance to look at the products on amazon and see what other people’s reviews are of the items.

Zxing scanner. Not near as good as shop savvy, but is another scanner so I have two to pick through. Choices are wonderful.

Cherry Rplayer – you can manually insert radio stations you like – I of course have ZRock in mine, because well they only have an iphone app and well I want to hear Zrock Dang it!

Opera Mini– because it does some stuff that google browser will not, like play myspace games right off their site, without need of an ap.

Pandora Radio – I love the way it lets you pick a music type and just ride with it. (audio out to audio in on my car, excellent sound.)

Digital Clock from Socialmobile , it’s like my back up alarm clock  (only use it while it’s on the charger though)

Twit.tv by Mediafly – all the Leo Laporte podcasts I can listen to.

Pretty much everything I have found, are just trials or do not live up to what they charge you, or just plain ol toys.
still waiting for Myspace Mobsters Android ap. Or a nice pdf viewer that costs no money and does not have trial period.. like foxit for Droid would be real nice. Mozilla Firefox for android would be nice. Hulu would be good.
Tv.com player would fricken rock if it had shows i like in full episodes. like Smallville Two and Half Men. but seems like everything that I like, is just 1 minutes snippets, really how much bandwidth could 300×200 really be ? They could soooo make some money from the ads, kinda like hulu does, if they would just do it . Youtube ap is great, but don’t hit pause, you freaking video fail every-time you do hit pause.
A-online radio has great features but it does not make the list. It just does not buffer very well. See Pandora radio isn’t as free roam as Aonline, but I can plug my G1 into my car stereo, turn on Pandora radio and let it play all the way from work to home. I plug in A-online and it plays for all of about 20 seconds. If it is not a buffer issue then the garbage shuts off every time the back light turns off. I know it’s one of the two and I can do nothing about either.

A very good write up on ZdNet called 10 Must Have- Android Apps

Is Internet Pirating Really Theft ?

If you see something that you are not willing to pay for, is that considered theft ?

There is a movie in the theater, and you really have no interest in that particular movie, you do not just jump on your bicycle and head up there to watch this movie. You never bother. One day it comes on cable or regular tv and there is nothing on, so you finally watch the dang thing. That is not pirating. If there is no access to this item other than pay, and you do not want to pay to see the movie, you do not see the movie, if the same person sees the movie for free, there is no actual loss to anyone. If anything, there is one more person on the street to say ” hey man I saw that dang movie and it really was a whole lot better than I expected.” Or the reverse. I can see how bad press from someone who has not completely earned and completely does not deserve the privilege to have an opinion of said film, could be offensive, but if you think about it ” yeah we know our film sucks, but we want people to pay for before they say anything”, is twice as offensive.

Is it bad to buy a $60 video game, install the game with your registration code and then turn around and download the pirated version and use the “no cd crack” that way you can leave the game disk in it’s case so that it will not get scratched? So you are not pulling the disk out every single time you want to play the game you paid for ?

Should purchasing be considered a gamble?

If one friend tells you the media you are interested in is garbage, while another friend tells you it is the best thing since gravity, would it be wrong for you to download the media and try it out so you can decide for yourself ? That is of course if you are in the position to not be able to try your friend’s copy.

As far as software goes, it’s kind of the same situation. How do you know if something is worth having without knowing if it will serve your needs?

I believe it is theft when you know the product that you are obtaining is going to suite a need for you and you still decide to not pay for this product. It is theft when you yourself pirate the item then turn around and sell your copy or sell duplicates of this product. You are then cutting into the profits of the original maker of the product. I believe it is theft when a manufacturer creates a product and tells you it will fullfill your needs in one specific area, and the product turns out to not serve the purpose stated. I believe it is theft when a manufacture creates a music cd and sells you this cd for $20+ and on the whole disk, only one song is worth listening to. I believe it is theft when a manufacturer creates a cd $20+ and it only has two or three songs on it total. I believe it is theft when a musician decides to not create a cd and use a professional label yet turns around and splits up all of their music on a media sell site, like itunes and sells the items at the price greater than what they would have made through a label, I mean really, we don’t even get a hard copy of the media and the quality is far to low. It is wrong to justify any of these earlier mentioned statements, to decide to download a copy of these items and not show your apreciation by giving the money required to obtain such media.

but everyone should be able to sample.
