Revision 3 acquired by Discovery channel

According to Kevin Rose, Discovery channel is now the owner of Revision 3.
My question is ” Will this mean that Discovery has a similar show line up that they want no competition so they will crush the shows like G4 did to tech tv, or does this mean that discovery will now be running Revision 3?”
Either way, we should have some good shows.

Downside is, major media now owns independent New media.

Wonder who will host the videos now.
Wonder if there will be a fee to watch tekzilla online.

Wonder what is to come of Twit network or if there have even been any offers.

What Killed the Tech Podcasts

Have you noticed that all of the tech podcasts are falling off the web? Have you noticed the consistent demise of all of the top podcasts and low end podcasts? Have you not wondered why it all happened? I have the answer.
Did you not notice 3-4 years ago, all of the tech podcasters changed from disliking Apple products, to not going a full podcast without saying Apple or ipod or iphone at least 20 times?
That’s exactly what killed the podcast.
The podcasts became nothing but media focused on Apple. And well, the techy people are all Linux and Windows users. Why would you listen to some guy talk about how you have this fancy new feature in Apple products, that have been there for ever in Linux, if you are a Linux user?
There you go, you lost listeners. Maybe you shouldn’t have taken the kick back from Apple to promote their product. Sure you may have gotten a few sales, but you killed your whole media. The ones that went away got sick of not relating, while the ones who got the apple, were not that techy, but willing to learn, you showed them this thing you say will not break or get hacked ..lol. So they have no reason to come back.

You sold out.

Diggnation calls it Quits

Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht call it quits.
Again.
So by the time one of the guys shaves their beard, the show will end and there will be no more Diggnation.
Diggnation was the forefront and pilot of internet media . This was the media that came from guys like you and I. This is a show from nothing that got sponsors by looking around the web saying “hey we get this many viewers, want us to mention you on the show??”.
Once Diggnation is gone, there will be no replacement. There will be no revival. because far as internet entertainment goes, nothing comes back to life successfully. and we lose interest and inspiration fast.

So.. farewell diggnation. I hope the rest of the crew at Revision 3 are smart enough to cut loss and sell everything to LEo from twit.tv while it’s still usable, and not wait until it’s worthless and bankrupt.
Tekzilla needs to be on the twit network.

So much for “new media”

Top Ten Podcasters of the Year: TruXter’s Choice

Well the year has brought so much news to the tech world, Via podcasts. Since that is a media source, TruXter tech Review will list the choice of podcasters for 2009. From tenth place down to the number one spot.

These podcasts are not necessarily  all tech, it’s the means in which this media is brought to us that makes it tech. There is great talent and tons of devotion in these people, that is why they are making the list. There are some that are very talented but had no devotion or motivation to carry on this year as they had in the past years. So this year they will not be making it to this list. Some are great talent but a bit slacking this year so their scoring isn’t as wonderful as it could be. This post is not to bash, but show apreciation, keep that in mind if your or your favorite podcaster is not in the top 2.

There will be no award that can be given other than readers of this site, a chance to listen to the media on the podcaster’s site. So i hope they enjoy the notoriety, no matter how small the traffic might be or low the number of interested link followers their are.Well without further  blathering, this is the list of 2009’s podcasters we hope to hear more from during 2010.

If you know someone with a podcast that should have made the list, leave their link. If it’s your link please let me know. i will gladly listen to more than one episode. probably every episode you do within 2010. Just respond to this post.
