WordPress 3.0
So far no status of the compatibility with any of my plugins. Seems to be running safe and smooth. Automatic update was quick.
Wordpress seemed to push this one out a little slower than the last two. So this one should be fine.
Did they close the servers?
Well something is wrong. My site and a few other people’s sites are banning people. it’s almost as if akismet is banning huge i.p. ranges or internet service providers. I had an issue a few months back. It seems it is happening again. I am not mad at anyone. I completely appreciate everything they have done. It does though seem like I should just turn it off in my plug-ins and all of my posts might have to have the comments turned off . Really it seems like I never used the thing anyway. I personally have decided to not accept probably 200 times the amount of messages that Akismet did not block. No i do not ban them, I just decide to not accept spammy ones.

“Akismet has detected a problem. A server or network problem is preventing Akismet from working correctly. Click here for more information about how to fix the problem.”
Last time that was showing, there was an issue . It took a few days for people to come together and note it was not each of our individual fault/issue.
I didnt log into any of my sites for like 3 days, i logged in and saw that.. It has now been three days since I first saw it. So I am assuming no one has caught it again.
Just a heads up to the techies. if it turns out to be something on my end. Let me know.

Not to say it is actually teh same issue, but I could suggest that something else happened when they updated to accommodate the issue I WAS having. It all seemed to start with the latest WordPress update.
There is a link in “Is Akismet down?” that shows how to resolve some of the issue. Maybe it will help you.
Seems I am the only person who get this information out, because I did not update every single wordpress script on all of my websites.. This one is the one to get the message out. I have not yet found the solution to akismet crashing my rss feeds on all of my sites but this post is my original post about akismet being down and not working well with wordpress 2.8.5.
Maybe I am totally wrong and someone knows the fix for my issue. If so please post it on the site, in case someone else thinks the same as myself.
So much writing has gone to waste over the past 4 days.
WordPress of course developed another fine version of WordPress.
Of course the auto update did not work well for me so I had of course tomanually install it. just download and walk-through the instructions, nothing more, nothing less.
