Motorola and Android – Backflip

It was needed.

Motorola BACKFLIP With MOTOBLUR for AT&T

Motorola Really needed this.

This phone looks like a really good phone. Slim with a large screen area.

The full keyboard of this phone puts it above any existing blackberry. That is for texting reasons of course. It’s the all of the add on software you can get, they call them apps. These far exceed the number of hackberry apps. This clearly proves that blackberry should try and dabble with the android system before it is to late.

Motorala builds some very well built phones, mechanically that is. So this software and their eye for design and dependability is a great merger.

The fact they leave the full keyboard in pushable smashable buttons instead of going for just touch (like most of the android phones recently), is probably the largest greatest and most appreciated part of this phone. This phone is the G1  that should have been.I predict this phone being more common than the Moto Razor ever was. To bad it’s currently only on AT&T. If they changed services to anything GSM other than AT&T i would jump to this phone.

A Online Radio ap for For Android

A Online Radio ap for For Android

This aplication is amazing. I love the thing. It shows speed of downloads, and volume of downloads. Hundreds if not Thousands of radio stations. I did not get to try them all. Just found the ones I wanted and I was good. I set my G! to use my Local area Wifi Network here at home ( I get 20mbs) and it streams to me from aol/winamp radio at an amazing rate. Since they use aol, they need to use aol video also.

I really like this application.

ZXing Barcode Scanner for Android

The Zxing barcode Scanner for Android system telephones

The data they have on their website about the ap.

ZXing (pronounced “zebra crossing”) is an open-source, multi-format 1D/2D barcode image processing library implemented in Java. Our focus is on using the built-in camera on mobile phones to photograph and decode barcodes on the device, without communicating with a server. We currently have production-quality support for:

This library is divided into several components; some are actively supported:

  1. core: The core image decoding library, and test code
  2. javase: J2SE-specific client code
  3. android: Android client, called Barcode Scanner
  4. androidtest: Android test app
  5. android-integration: Supports integration with our Barcode Scanner app via Intent
  6. zxingorg: The source behind zxing.org/w
  7. zxing.appspot.com: The source behind our web-based barcode generator

Some modules are contributed and/or intermittently maintained:

  1. javame: JavaME client
  2. csharp: Partial C# port
  3. cpp: Partial C++ port
  4. rim: RIM/Blackberry-specific client build
  5. iphone: iPhone client + port to Objective C / C++ (QR code only)
  6. bug: Client for BugLabs’s BUG

Works great if you are scanning stuff to find where to get that item online or what the best online price is, but beyond that, meh.. nothing special..

Does not tell you where to get it cheaper locally.

It still is great reassurance when you use it and find that online is about the same price. if you consider shipping and handling and the amount of time shipping takes and all that junk. Shop Savvy seems to do the same thing but it shows local. You get similar results with the two of online deals. but I still keep both because there some times seems to be differences.

I suggest you do the same, use both, you can’t really go wrong.

***Update***

There have been plenty of really good updates to zxing barcode scanner.

Dang thing is really cool. You just kind of have to drop the understanding you have of the other  bacode scanners.

Zxing is now one of my “must have” aps

Tmobile and Sprint Merger Bad Karma?

Rumor hitting the net now about Tmobile and sprint merging.

From this Uk News Article

Hopefully this means teh end of sprints crappy CDMA signal and growth of Tmobiles more dominant gsm signal.

One of the greatest features of gsm is the ability to just yank your sim card out and plug it into another phone you have and make it work, until you can replace your broken phone. So if this happens, cross your fingers and hope for gsm. Some people like to travel, and many people like Tmobile.

Oh yeah, and a good signal.

Week In Review

Here I state the stuff I did on the sideline that never made it to the site, and I will cover the stuff on the site and give it an “after though”.

Trying different Advertisers than adsense. I really do not like how the last three years of adsense pay out has been. it has been dwendling low. what used to pay is no longer the format, and what does pay is starting to seem a little arrogant. I mean their code is so perfect and so close to your content, it could never fail, the issue must be your content…..  also i have two tools to tell me how much traffice I get, no they do not conflict each other.  adsense is showing less than 1/3 the traffic in the results. but what do I care?  I mean adsense no longer pays you for how many people you serve their advertisements to.. Almost no motivation in that at all.

So Now I am trying “Adbrite” On the tech review site, and am going to try widget bucket on a couple other sites. I have got to see the pay scale difference.  I am scared that since adsense is so  greedy, the other companies will be as greedy.. You know how they get, if one guy makes 300% profit off of a product, you can be sure all the other companies will, even the ones who are going out of business and can’t figure out why or how to save themselves…

Let’s see how that plays out.

Phone review is being rough on me. MOTOrizr v3, blackberry 8100, and blackberry 7105t. Just to help those in the market for used and just want small specs. All on Tmobile. Hard part is I have to swap Sim card and Mem card around , it takes forever to boot a BlackBerry. I really do mean forever. 5 minutes at the least.  I love the MOTO, cant do much without the 8100, the 7100  well that makes a pretty good back up battery and back up phone in case I really really need it. GSM rocks.

SDR Podcast has had some very good shows.

Sad to hear that GEOcities is gone. Yeah it had crappy site builders there, but it also had tons of data stored. The passing of that site will mean the passing of the whole freedom to design.

ByeBye Free Design

Bye Bye Free Design

Hours upon hours fighting with windows seven, fight a bsod infection. I was using Microsoft Windows 7  64  on a 2.9 g AMD5600+(dual core) with 3 Gigs Mem and 250 gig Hard Drive, I would have a flash  chatroom open, I would have Hulu open and try to burn a cd. I would get a lock up. If i left it along i would get the blue screen of death, If I ctrl Alt Delete  , I would get this stupi annoying pop up that would tell me that it failed to open user account applet or something or other. View Photo Of Win7 BSOD

still can not get Autodesk Autocad 2010 to work on windows 7.

I phone hacked… Again

Get  Square font sent to your Iphone as an SMS, you are compromised. Time to shut down.

Well This goes to show you, that it is not a perfect company. The one device they make that

actually hits the masses, Gets hacked fast and easy one simple text message font From what I gather, the font will look like the blank font looks on a machine that does not support  it, it will just be a square. One single square that locks up your cell phone. Mashable says that when your phone locks up, they are hacking you. Really I doubt that, locked up is locked up, unless you are locked out and the lock up is just a spoof.

Make you think twice about yoru twitter ap…..
