Dating site results for an I.T. Minded person

Reality of Dating Sites

Was on a dating site and searching through women on it. Talked to a few and got a few good responses that ended up going nowhere. Met a few and paid a minimum of $45 a meal only to have the women laugh as they were getting out of the car and saying “Good luck in your search for a woman the site works”… Really? why is she still single?
but I found a pretty lady who in her profile says she is an “I.T. recruiter”. I’m boggled by this title so I strike up what I figure was a polite conversation.
She flips out.
Oh the site was called “plenty of Fish” So “looking for a date” is called “fishing” there.

What the heck is an i.t. recruiter? I work i.t. and simply got hired.
My ex says sheis an i.t. recruiter, but comes to me for the simplest tasks. I personally don’t want to know anything about her, so i don’t ask. But seriously wtf is an i.t. recruiter?
Not bashing. Just expressing serious interest and reason.

Now, why the name calling?
Was a valid question.
Well. I wish you good luck at fishing.

It’s actually not a valid question seeing as it’s 2012 & every company known to man has some sort of IT Dept

Look. Im really not wanting to argue, at all.
I understand what i.t stands for. Have no clue what an “i.t. recuiter” is.
As I said, I work i.t. and was not “recruited”.
I’ll just assume phone solicitor to sell some sort cloud back up crap.

Happy fishing.

Oh my…that’s just sad. Recruiters…of any kind…work with clients to help fill their open positions. You should never assume…it just makes an ass out of you. Please don’t send me another message.

My last message. Honest.
I really was trying to get a conversation going with you. I wish I would have caught you at a better time .

I’m not here for “a hook up” . And so far, your the best package deal I have seen on this damn place yet. Your not looking for someone to buy you stuff.
Or give you computer.
You’re not writing me in slang.

I think you will find mrRight. When you are a little happier.

So.. block me.. ill block you in a little while when i know you’ve had time to read this.

I won’t be blocking you bc it’s not that big of a deal. You didn’t catch me at a bad time. Not knowing what an IT Recruiter is in 2012 is what did you in. And you used ‘your’ twice above when it should have been ‘you’re’.

Cell phone, with poorly calibrated touch pad, and the slowest processor available. Haven’t overclocked this one yet. So, waiting for text to catch up is not an option that I have patience for. My mistake.
I still have no clue what you do

Good thing that I don’t need to.
Because I then would have to explain what I do, and typically, sales people never understand half of it.

Well I think I am done with this method of dating. Seemed like it would be a perfect way to meet a woman. Since in the real world, the women you meet get kind of turned off by the fact that I can sometimes get lost for hours or days on end in code.

there needs to be a different way. Or a way to weed out the women from dating sites who put in their profile “I don’t like computers” or “I spend all of my time outside enjoying life and living happily” those women usually frown upon guys that sit at their computer. Reality says “woman go out there and find those guys, leaves us i.t. guy in our world”.
but no. We still get the bar flies out looking for one more guy to pay her tab.

Plenty Of Fish and stolen Identity

Plenty of Fish

Plenty of Fish

I made an account for plenty of fish about 2 years ago. Part of the process of creating an account on Plenty of fish is you have to upload a picture of yourself so people have something to look at. So I did that. I uploaded a picture and began my try at the free dating site. I was very pleased at all the features and usage you can get from plenty of Fish all for free. Without needing some “gold plus members special help mode points” to do any of the normal every day stuff.

I ran into  a bunch of women who in less than three interactions on the site asked me what my yearly income was. To me that is just messed up and crummy standards. How about talk to me and see if I am interesting first.  So I stopped going to Plenty of Fish. A year later I popped back in and found pretty much the same thing.

Here I am again on vacation looking for stuff to do so I go back to Plenty of Fish to poke around the site.

and now my identity has been stolen.

Here I send a message to a lady on Plenty of Fish, and ask her where she took her picture because the scene is just breath taking. Check out the crazy response I got

The girl went nuts on me

our first interaction

So I say “Woah Waoh…. What?” and she responds with this

Second interaction from the girl on plenty of fish

Our second part to the conversation

Then I upload another picture of myself and say “look I am the guy in that picture, can you please give me the link to the guy that is using my picture so I can get him taken care of?” and she responds with this.

Then I tell her ” Hey look I have a myspace profile, and a facebook profile with many more pictures, if you want, we can meet at the police station and I can bring a physical copy of the picture you think I stole and prove that I am me and make you think twice about that guy you call your friend”. and this is the response I get

And then she fricken blocks me. She never gave me the link to the guy that stole picture. I would not doubt she gave him the link to my profile, to prove what ever… and the freak has stolen my latest picture.

She is real. Here is what her profile looked like

So I head to the forums for Plenty of Fish and leave a simple post titled “someone is using my picture” and then one line in the post that says ” someone on here is using my image and I need to prove them fake with more pictures of me. any help?”. that post was up for all of about 30 seconds before moderators deleted it. No contact from the site at all, in my email or on my private messages as to how to resolve the issue. I looked all over their site for help, didn’t find any so I had made that post.

I am left to assume that the lady in question is not who she says she is and is just another fake. Probably a guy trying to play a prank on his friend, and well, getting a message from a guy freaked him out.

Plenty of fish is messed up.

Dating Sites Review

There have seen many dating sites come and then go. Lots of these dating sites use some dirty methods to keep you interested. Like fake messages of someone is looking for you, or that there are great matches in your email. Don’t even try and remove yourself from the email, list.

But I found one good dating site. A real dating site that lets you actually meet people.

After the millions of Dating sites I have stopped in and got confused by (okay maybe like ten and they all seemed the same….spammy).
Being single again, I find it a great time to wander over and get me a good review out of the top two dating sites. That’s right, Plenty of Fish and Tagged.
After 1 week of Learning the systems of tagged and p.o.f., I feel I can make a fair judgment of the two sites.
Plenty of Fish
Is 100% free for everything you need to meet someone. There are added features when you pay.
Plenty of Fish loads very fast.
There is a “Meet Me” section, much like “hot or not’. You get to hit yes, no, maybe on the meet me page. Really a great option to add the maybe. because I do not know if maybe when you hit no, does that person never show up again? Hit maybe just in case you have to lower your standards or it turns out that’s the best this place has to offer, or just one picture of 20 that is bad.
if you click on yes for “meet me” That person gets a notice that you want to meet them. They then get to respond and tell you “okay” or “um sorry but I met someone already”.

With in 4 days, my Message email was full. Full of messages from real women in my area. Educated women from my area. To me this is very promising.

Tagged
Very similar to Plenty of Fish, you get the “meet me” option, but you don’t get the “maybe” button. it’s a yes or no options only, kind of thing. I am not certain about other cities, but here in Houston, there are tons of No. Like 8-12 no, to 1 yes. Lots of spam. Lots of really trashy women on Tagged (Houston).
Tagged forces you to get pay a monthly fee to see who appreciates that you like them and want to know you back.
There have been a few accounts where I got messages saying that someone responded to me wanting to meet them, but i was directed to sign up for VIP. So I went back through the people I wanted to meet. They were no where in the list. So tagged has set a bad impression to me.
I have been propositioned by what I think is a prostitute on Tagged. Um… no thanks.

All of the matches I recieved from tagged where in other states.

With in 4 days, my messages were full, of spam and messages that made Zero sense. Look people, do not add anything from that site to your yahoo messenger. It would be in your best interest to not even start that problem.

I found nothing interesting in tagged.com. The site isn’t even a dating site much. Tagged is more of a video game farm and bombardment of fake love matching spam.

Of the two sites. I have to give the high score to plenty of fish.
It won’t hurt you to try both and your results may come out different from mine. but don’t get your hopes up on that.
Plenty of Fish seems to be a better class of people. People who can actually type a legible message to you. I have yet to get spam from P.O.F.
So in the End. Plenty of Fish is winner, hands down.
