Kevin Rose Steps down from Digg

Kevin Rose steps down as CEO of Digg.com
and is now starting up a new venture.
He is still on board of directors. He is not totally gone, but not responsible for day to day decisions.
So digg might be taking new paths and Kevin may introduce plenty of innovation to a new market.
This comes a year after the announcement of diggnation ending. but now they seem to not be talking much about diggnation ending any time soon.
so now the strongest ever social network (who has been on a downward for over two years now) may see new changes. Digg facelifts, digg functionality, etc.

Mashable Poll Does Not add Up

On the Mashable website reading the poll results for Mashable’s poll on New digg Verses old digg.

A few things just don’t add up,

Mashable Poll

Stare closely When you see it. Keep looking there is more.

They say that old Digg won, but it shows old Digg got only 4 votes but is 78% of the poll.
IMHO, They don’t like Digg’s ability to steal traffic, or the traffic Digg stole a while back..

Why do I say this?
because if you tilt your head to the right.

The poll looks like they are flipping an FU bird.

New digg Is Launched

Well Kevin and the gang finally opened the new digg for the public.
We no longer have to go the long way to get there and we don’t have two separate versions of digg. It’s all in one now.
So if you didn’t get an invite a week ago, No worries. You can now see what we all were buzzing about.

Submit it to Google buzz. lol

Got my Digg 4 Invite Today

Ok. Feed submission is automated and you can just simply verify and be done with it

This is an open source project with a couple apps already created for it.

Seems to be in Alpha mode, Seems to be a social network of news builders and posters.

Wish I could figure out how to invite people. There is someone I want to invite to it but I can not locate the “Invite to Digg 4” button or option. *update* digg tech support said to just send her to new.digg.com

I didn’t take up on the crap where it makes you invite everyone in your facebook and gmail account. I hope that “Google Me” is as good.

Top Ten Podcasters of the Year: TruXter’s Choice

Well the year has brought so much news to the tech world, Via podcasts. Since that is a media source, TruXter tech Review will list the choice of podcasters for 2009. From tenth place down to the number one spot.

These podcasts are not necessarily  all tech, it’s the means in which this media is brought to us that makes it tech. There is great talent and tons of devotion in these people, that is why they are making the list. There are some that are very talented but had no devotion or motivation to carry on this year as they had in the past years. So this year they will not be making it to this list. Some are great talent but a bit slacking this year so their scoring isn’t as wonderful as it could be. This post is not to bash, but show apreciation, keep that in mind if your or your favorite podcaster is not in the top 2.

There will be no award that can be given other than readers of this site, a chance to listen to the media on the podcaster’s site. So i hope they enjoy the notoriety, no matter how small the traffic might be or low the number of interested link followers their are.Well without further  blathering, this is the list of 2009’s podcasters we hope to hear more from during 2010.

If you know someone with a podcast that should have made the list, leave their link. If it’s your link please let me know. i will gladly listen to more than one episode. probably every episode you do within 2010. Just respond to this post.

Tech Podcasts to start out August Work Schedule

Every week every day I have to start out listening to my shows. I start with sdr then move to the tech guythen caffination and then twit. Through out the week I pick out the rest.  Following week, I start all over. Occasionally I get lucky  and Jobacle has a new episode. If you send topic requests, he might actually research the topic and hook you up.  Really well done program, just not enough of it there.  The unsigned musicians portion of the show really is good stuff, most of time!

Twit This Week In Tech, a network created by Leo Laporte. Shows I highlight that I must listen to every week.

The Tech Guy, Net@Nite,TWIT.

Tech Podcast Network Place to hear tech podcasts and select from a few. sdr, linux news log, Mike Tech, CaffiNation,

Podnutz A gathering of tech podcasts on one network. pretty good stuff.

At the top of every page on the tech news site, there is a tool bar, you don’t have to use it but it does already have the podcasts I listed here in the rss feed and the radio player. I use that tool bar on my bootable linux thumb drive, my home pc, my laptop, my work pc , scanned a million times over  there is nothing to fear from that bar it really is very useful. but again, you o not have to use  it to try the podcasts I listed.

is digg.com rigged?

Have you ever noticed that the same people keep getting the highest diggs?

Have you wondered why? or how they always do? have you wondered why your submissions never even get noticed? I know that I have. On a few occasions I have submitted stuff beforeanyone else and only got like one digg, then flamed to hell and noticed that someone else submitted the same story after me and pulled well over 1000 diggs. Why is that? Do you do follow up later to see what is going on?

See I go to the photos sections.

And, well, I notice something. That only certain people get butt loads of diggs. Is it that people will only digg something from someone if they see they already have a bunch of diggs? is it that people will only digg something if they know that everyone else already thinks it is cool? I mean is that what it takes to be cooler? is to be cool already?

I just wonder if this is a simple advertisement scam. I mean not all of it has to be a direct advertisement, but I would bet that more than 90% are in some shape or form, just a scam to advertise either the content directly mentioned in the post, or something within the page that is linked from the digg post. If a post is dugg 2000+ times, do you know everyone that has dugg that post? do any of the names look familiar? Have you read the responses in there? Are the posts automated? What percentage of the voted actually posts?
