Employment Resources

When searching for a job you can get frustrated and worn out by stumbling into all the quick money postings. The types of junk that lead you into paying money because they say you can make money, and you end up shorter on cash and worse off than when you started. Well there is a job search website that claims to prevent such postings.

The owners of that site also run some chat rooms and forums, so they know a few things about automated postings. They point out that people use Bots or automated posting programs to post the same stuff on forums as they do on job search sites. They say they see them all the time when they do research at other job search sites. Now as forum and chatroom owners, the trick is to make everyone who chooses to submit a job to wait for site team approval. If you know how lazy bot owners are, you know they do not create 100000 email addresses, so if they use one at all, it is the same one. So the crew at http://iworkwithpeople.com simply do a google (the magical mystical device) search on what information is givin, and if the applicant comes up within the list of internet badness, they refuse the applicant.

So far the site has been up for a few weeks, and well, all that has found them so far is spam bots and one single company. I liked what they did so I am posting  a heads up on what they do. If you are looking to post a job, and do not use a spammers email address and or i.p. address , feel free to post a job at http://iworkwithpeople.com .

If you are looking for work, post a “work wanted” ad on there. Some one will respond. The level of privacy is  amazing. Take a look around.

Oh yeah, did I mention the site was 100% free to all users?  submit/search/resume  the whole thing is totally free.

And inspired as I am from this “help the world find a job” post   go listen to the podcasts at jobacle.com He reminds you that you are worth more than the job you think you are, and inspires you with motivating suggestions.   Great podcast for getting the cubicle monkey out of you :-P

Job search Forum

Great idea came. iworkwithpeople.com  a social employment site.

Create a forum for people to use to post jobs.

and people can reply to those posts if needed.

Main thing is to control the spammers with “work at home” job crap, that sends you emailing 4000000000000 people to only get one response so you earn 25 cents.

So now you can respond to scammers and their posts, basicly flame them out to oblivion.

Call moderator and get the adds removed.. who knows, if you are there long enough looking for a job, you may even make a few friends. I myself am always looking for a better job.

It is made for the career minded people who just do not fit in any catagory in any of the job searches. Like say if you want to be a manager of a gas station, look on monster or career builder and search manager you find head ceo manager of Exxon.  yeah right , you know you aren’t qualified for that. .. hopefully  iworkwithpeople.com will do this right for the regular people.

Domain Split Sorrows

Well i got the new domain name, and my current domain name has been looking a bit a.d.d. for a couple years now. Well I decided to make the iworkwithpeople.com all about just work careers and employment. If you know me you have to be wondering ” How the hell are you gonna restrain and prevent yourself from talking tech there?” Well my friends or just that random dude that ran through here and read this article…… I bought a new domain name, iworkwithtech.com :-D tell me that does not fit ?

Ok now comes the issues… I have to split that. i have no idea where to begin with it. I mean I have so much stuff already indexed in the search engines, Like my busiest page on the iworkwithpeople section, is a grand theft auto on linux . I mean if you search in google this exact phrase ” gta on linux” if I am not still right there on top, I am on the first page.. The way I have things set up now you can get to the exact same pages by replacing the word “people” with the word “tech” and vice versa. My main plain is to jjust stop linking to the popular/tech pages through the work site. I am pretty sure that I ran off alot of people looking for a work related site, because when they got there, it was full of tech tips.

You see I fought for a while trying to get that freaking site noticed and well, now that it’s noticed I am redefining it. I know bold/stupid move. I really have to though because those are two totally different sites and topics. I want them to look exactly the same at all times, because I want it known to those who always go to the “people” domain, that I am still the same dude on the tech domain.

I really love talking tech . I really love it when people listen to me and enjoy my help. I hope you see why I had to do this. Now I have to figure out how to make google and yahoo and msn see me without repeated linking and looking like I am gaming the systems.

Messing around at work

[tags]duct detector, fire alarm, fun, job, photo beam, pull station, smoke detector, work, employment, job, photoshop, autodesk, cad, ion photo sensor,houston[/tags]

I decided I would make a fricken long website address.

here

I do not think the boss liked me just jacking around like that while on the clock making that link.

but it was a way to show off what changes I did to the actual site.

Of course it is hosted on my own personal site. Simply because I am new and thew doubt me.

It’s understandable. I am still being trained by people on how the actual job it’s self works. After my 90 days evaluation period ends. I will start showing some of my better quallities. I mean there are two i.t. guys there , and it’s not like I dislike them. It’s just they have the “i.t. guy” territorial thing going on. Well i do not need people getting territorial on me while I am still learning the mechanics of the job.

After march I will probably start posting news and updates on how I may or may not be doing this fire alarm company some good. No I am not pulling wires or turning screws or even carrying a ladder, Autodesk/cad and photoshop and the like all day long while searching the web for references, because I do not want to ask for help.

New job!

Probably not the most techy news I have done here but I got a new job working for a company called “HiTech” Fire detection.

A fire alarm and sprinkler company from out in Houston area. The guys here are great and very relaxed. Kinda strange to me because I have never been this comfortable in a work environment.

Well forget all the intros let’s get to the bone. I seem to have been assigned a task of building a website. See this guy Eein that I am working with built a site straight from css and tables and stuff which of course i think is fine and runs circles around the current site . But the owner saw me messing around with some flash ap and just jacking around with my desktop and a web template . Now see, I didn’t really want the task of building the site, simply because if it looks lame to me I will rebuild it , and rebuild it and it will never be finished. I have scrapped it like five times now already.

Well if a site is what they want then a site is what they get. You see though, I like the site that Eein built. It just looks better and is more sound and can be easily updated when needed, and it can be crawled at any time by any search bot. The owners of the site want a flash intro and a flash ap on the page , a flash ap that I really do not want to get buried in. They want a room to navigate in with a fire extinguisher and a sprinkler and a horn strobe and a lighted exit sign above the door in the back. I am sure I can do it, but man I would hate to have to edit it. I can edit it but dang .

You guys tell me what looks better. I really like Eein’s site I have said that from the start and am really against a bloated flash site. The current site is done in mostly Iframes and I really cannot see a bot crawling that which really is not a helpfull thing, ya know? See I know that they are going to be expanding to Austin Dallas and San Antonio real soon, like before the end of 2008. They surely will be wanting an update to the site telling people in those areas that it would not take long for us to get our guys on the site. Now that is becoming bigger work. I am still learning the ropes of the job and if I spend all my time on the clock building a site, when my evaluation period ends and I don’t know anything……. dude I will be screwed.

Looking at hours of photoshop and adobe flash cs3 man,!!!!

The dell machine and adobe flash cs3 and if you could zoom way in, you would see photoshop somewhere in the taskbar. This sad little machine is a trooper though, it is doing all that with only 512 mb ram, minimum for flash install. The 3.2g pentium is the life saver there though.

looks like houston.com has them in the forefront
