Lost Insurance Because Of Facebook??

A woman from Canada lost her insurance after facebook visit from her insurance company. seems they saw her vacation pictures and said ” Hey you not so cool”

Here is the real story followed by  My take.

Lost her insurance because of Facebook Pictures

A Canadian woman on sick leave for depression said Monday she would fight an insurance company’s decision to cut her benefits after her agent found photos on Facebook of her vacationing, at a bar and at a party………..

Ok, You back from reading that? Really it is a short read so if you haven’t read it . Go read it.

She goofed by giving the insurance company the same email address she registered her Facebook account with. But that does not make her a bad person. Really it makes her insurance company practically an internet Stalker. Facebook is pretty strict and locked tight. Most profiles, you can’t see someone’s profile unless you are invited to see it, or if you request to be their friend and they accept. So somewhere in that area she made a mistake. That of course is not against the law. Tricking her into thinking she is going to have a new friend is deceptive though.

An insurance agent over-riding the doctor’s request, is foul, and well here in the united states, the doctor would probably sue the insurance company because of the claim against the doctor’s credibility.

So.. What have  we learned here?

Probably not much.

  1. I’ve read several news articles and researched for additional details before coming to a conclusion.

I’m sorry to say this, but it sounds like to me that this woman is just lazy. Anyone who really had a depression [or other mental] problem would NOT be posting photos on facebook, much less continuing to post photos on facebook. This whole “I have a depression problem” is just one that ANYONE can fake.

Now as for the argument of how facebook profiles should have been locked and private… there is NO such thing as keeping things “safe” and locked on the net. ANYTHING that gets posted or sent [yes that includes EMAIL] through the net STAYS on the net. I’ve known this simple FACT for years.

As for the insurance company being “in the wrong” to snoop and discontinue her benefits… I’m sorry, but they have every right to know if someone is handing them a line a sh!t just to get free money out of the deal. There ARE people out there who REALLY do need and deserve to have health insurance, but don’t get it because of individuals like this woman who make it bad for everyone else. I commend the insurance company for buckling down and I wish that other leeching individuals would get caught and cut off too.

Bottom line: it doesn’t pay to be a thief, liar, lazy, money moocher. Let this be a lesson for anyone who thinks it’s ok to suck on the system while others pay their hard earned money for it. IBM would be wise to not allow the woman to come back to the job. Instead, they should tell her to take a hike, as this story I’m sure will have some sort of bad reflection on the corporation. If this woman is capable of going to a beach weekly and capable of going to night clubs to see male dancers, then she’s most certainly capable of working a normal job like a normal human being.

Don’t feel sorry for con artists. They’re good at sucking people dry of their money.

  2. So if I am not mistaken and I don’t think I am, Canada has the government run healthcare for all nonsense that Nobama would like to see here. The problem wasn’t her pictures or that her doctor was a quack telling her to go rip it up and have a good time to get out of her funk. The problem is that what the government gives the government can taketh away. They will let you when you are better.

Healthcare in general is expensive and when you start getting into mental or physical disabilities the cost rises so when government feels you have reaped enough they will find a way to cut you off. They start by deciding what tests and care should be covered not what your doctor says you need, then they cut benefits to discourage you from getting better care and if all else fails they play the existing condition not covered card. It’s sick.

If the U.S. gets the same coverage there will be plenty of people left to die by their rejected conditions mostly elderly I would guess, which I agree is a solution to the growing population problem but if they stopped giving free care to pregnant women popping out 10 kids by 10 different babydaddys and stopped paying for illegals and limited the influx of non U.S. citizen collage and job openings maybe our own cottontop grandparents wouldn’t have to die in the next couple years.

Think of it as an animal shelter because that is what government run healthcare is like. The animals come in they all get cleaned up, vaccinations, medical treatment and then BAM! OK we’re done with this one we gave it what we were required but it might need more so kill it…. next.

Everyone can have their own opinion I’m just saying I have a PPO and my coverage sucks and if I can get a test or procedure covered 5 people have to read or participate in it and bill 5 separate bills which I have to pay part of for the deductible, can you imagine if the government handled it? I’d be paying 10 people to read the same result or they would say we pay 10 the price of 5 and some disgruntled x-ray reader would miss a life threatening problem. Dead if you do dead if you don’t.

  3. Wow, Very well worded. I am going to let this one go up,
    1 because it’s a difference of opinion
    2 not insane or stupid
3 not full of cuss words.
I delete that stuff all the time. It is nice to see someone have a different opinion from the norm and not be any of the three that I delete.
