Problem with Ebay

I sold my G1 phone on eBay because I need the cash right now. At start I saw the prices they offered for the listing. I selected to start the auction at $90 with $9 shipping. Only one person bid on the phone. So the phone went at $90 and $9 shipping. The money went to my paypal account. Instantly PayPal (owned by eBay) charged me $5 for the transaction. Two days go by and eBay charged me $8 on top of the $1 they originally stated. So now I am down $13 of the $99 received for the sell and the shipping. Now i have to pay $9 for the shipping.
Of the $99 I’m now down $22.
This makes my take on the sell of my cell phone $77. Along with the wait in line at the post office on my lunch break. Because well. I didn’t want to make the buyer wait 1 or 2 extra days while the post office gets around to picking up the package from my house and i didn’t want to shell out more money for the shipping labels provided by eBay. Because really. I just sold one item.
$22 dollars to make less than $100 and the advertisement ran for three days. Heck it took 5 days for the money to transfer from PayPal to my bank account, but just seconds to to transfer from my bank account to eBay to pay off the fees for the listing.

Considering the last time I ran an ad on eBay I got hassled by a scammer who kept sending me payment confirmation emails but no payment was ever transferred.. Really for eBay to be so unsafe, they sure do charge quite a bit of money for you to sell one item and use a max of about 200kb of storage and maybe the same in bandwidth.

 

So now I plug my own website. My alternative to eBay.

Wow. That is the first thought you get once you understand how to work the latest verson of zinga barcode scanner.
You can upload images of products, post prices (most people are type stupid fake low prices). Do reviews of products, read other reviews of products before you spend $$$ on it.
This android barcode scanner is dead on super fast. While other barcode scanners repeatedly try to read barcodes, this one reads them ultra fast.
You get to see in real time, current scans,updates and data entry. Their data base because of this latest update, has got to be the highest informed data base ever of all barcode scanners.
This is a must have android application for anyone who is shopping. Especially for those who are uncertain about a product they have to buy.

Seems a lot of people are scanning lotion…..
Uses very little battery.

Rising Truth About Gas Prices

I’m pretty fed up with gas prices. I’m quite sure you are also. We watch the gas prices in hopes of relief. We look everywhere for a good idea on how to save money, or get better gas mileage. I know kind of the same thing. Okay, a lot of the same thing. Really the only that will work is for gas prices to drop down to its actual value. At the rate gas prices used to rise, we should be paying $1.89 a gallon here in Houston. But we are not.

In Houston we all received notice that the state is buying up all old cars. They are offering car lots $3000 for each car they recycle. They want everyone with an old car to bring it in and recycle it by getting a $3000 value trade on a new car. Sounds sweet right?

Not if you only have $2500 and nothing to trade in.

I do know that an ’86 Accord and a ’60-something VW Beetle get better gas mileage than the better of our current “hybrids” being sold to the public at $45 grand. I am not saying that the government has a huge conspiracy or something to hate people it doesn’t ever see. The lower class folks.

What I am saying is the government forgets simple factors because they have never been the lower class.

it’s illegal to run our own oil refineries in the USA.

Texas is not covered in oil wells. I have lived here my whole life. Never seen one before, ever.

Every time there is something in media that tells you how outrageous the gas prices are in another country, our gas price goes up 15 cents. Every time we hear that gas prices are going down, it drops one third the latest gas gouge only to go back up to the gouge prices.

If we are paying $4 a gallon we are told that we are getting relief by a 15 cent price drop. Yes on a full tank that will save me a whole 1.80, about the price that one gallon of gas should be. Isn’t that amazing? I got a whole gallon. Didn’t I?

Are we too civilized to react?
