Colleen On the UGM Benchmark

We all screen shot her benchmarks at the same time,

We all have been coming in and out checking for updates on the ultimate gaming machine. Raggie34 (a regular there) has been showing up and helping like it was a paying job. His efforts  should be remembered. his work is well done.

I had my window down while I dug around other sites and she flipped out with a huge “hoooyaaa!”   so I looked.

And hit the screen shot.

I think I am the last to post so I have to say ” good job on the BenchMark and stability throughout!”

GJ Colleen

I upgraded pc for gtaiv

I yanked out the old single core  mother board and processor

with Amd754 64bit 3400 mb cpu

and the nvidia 7600 gs 512 mb ram

and two gig pc 3200 ddr  ram

this computer was maxed out, the processor size was the max, the ram was the two gig max and the video card, well they don’t put out much for an agp  slot, for less than about 300 bucks, and still make it worth having.

to install

Athlon  5600+ dual 64bit am2 (2900mghz)

2 gigs pc 6400 ddr2 corsair mem

EVGA nvidia 9500 gt with 512 ddr2

Crazy thing is, the memory will not max out till it gets seated with 16 gigs.  Untill they sell  8 gig mem cards for cheap, and microslop allows you to install that much ( I believe 64 vista allows a large number , unsure what that is.) I will be fine with two gigs.

I of course had an issue installing xp. I kept seeing a lock up while trying to install Vista. So I tried the un-thinkable. I installed Xp 64 bit. Crazy, it fired right up and installed everything smoothly. I whent to all manufacture’s websites and bam…. the drivers  ready and available.

I decided to go onthe regular benchmarking I do.

I started with gtaiii . The game that always lags when ou go through the underpasses, when branches pass over the car, or china town where the banners flap as you pass through. not one hitch, hiccup, fsb burp.

Windows xp 64, the operating system that was such a problem to everyone, now is the best I have ever seen. I can not believe what is going on,.

Next I jumped on vice city, walked out of the safe house jumped in a banshee and headed with teh shoreline to my right. I made it to the malibu club and about a block later… wait … wtf.. what did I see?.. I turned around.. right in front of the parking lot behind the club is a sign. !!! a sign!!! I get out of the banshee to read the sign and it says “no standing, no parking,m2” a bunch of other stuff and something that looked like the back of a bus.

Why have I never seen this before?… Well while I was standing there.  people started walking up .. and they just stood there. Like they where waiting for a bus..  ok.. so the new card, ddr2  and the 64 bit combo just turned something on I have never seen before..   WHAT ?

So I drive around and test my typical lag areas. all was smooth.

I am about to jump into vice city and see what goes on there.

I like my machine now.

first screen shots are released

http://www.gta4.net/news/4122/iv-pc-shown-off-at-leipzig-9-screenshots-emerge/

The gta Network has been around a while, they are very good at getting information to their ring.

Sometimes rockstar feeds them.

Get to know the network.

Start with e the gta forums .

The first details and screenshots of the PC version of GTA IV have emerged online today. Features revealed include a replay editor, better search options for matches online, the ability to play with a controller instead of keyboard and mouse (for all the masochists out there) and of course polished visuals worthy of the platform. Oh, and also fingerless gloves.

  • The number of multiplayer slots may be expanded for the PC version (16 is the limit for the console versions).
  • The maximum resolution is 2560×1600.
  • Players can record 30 second clips and then they can add filters and adjust the camera angle using the replay editor. They can also paste clips together and then upload them to R* Social Club for others to view online.
  • Players can search for multiplayer games more specifically (e.g. a deathmatch with pistols only).
  • The Xbox 360 controller is compatible with the PC version.

GTAiv On pc , First details

Rockstar has revealed the first details of the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV.

The game was shown off at the Leipzig Games Convention today by PR man Steve Hahnel. He began by promising much improved visuals, saying they’ll be “polished well beyond what they were on the 360 and PS3”.

New features will include a replay editor. Whenever you’re playing the previous 30 seconds of gameplay will be recorded, so at any time you can stop and watch what you just did. You can also edit footage – chop it up, add filters, switch camera angles and so on.

There will also be a montage editor that lets you link together multiple 30-second clips. You’ll be able to share the movies you make via the internet and the Rockstar Social Club.

Hahnel also hinted there are plans to add new multiplayer options. Noting there is online play for up to 16 players in the console versions of GTA IV he added, “We’re expanding on that” – but didn’t offer any further details.

However, Hahnel did say there will be new filters so you can have more control over the type of matches and races you take part in. If you just want to play with pistols, for example, that will possible. The whole idea is to make it easier to find exactly what you’re looking for.

The rest of the demo consisted of a playthrough of the Three-Leaf Clover mission seen in the console game. This was played using an Xbox 360 controller, and Hahnel confirmed you’ll be able to choose this or the traditional keyboard option in the finished game.

The visuals do indeed look more polished – lighting is more realistic and there’s a much higher level of detail on both characters and environments. Movement animations are smoother but could still do with a bit of work; Nico runs down stairs like he’s got a wonky ankle. Still, as Hahnel was careful to point out, GTA IV is still “a work in progress” and there’s “a lot of polishing and cleaning” to do before the game is released on November 24th.

Well looks like the guys on gtaforums.com  in the pc section, are celebrating tonight as we see the game will have better details than the console (due to 2 year newer/better graphics cards than the consoles).

It’s great they made video editor, to bad they won’t let you turn it off to save resources.

Oh well great stuff, I will be gaming this.

Grand Theft Auto On pc Videos.

Over the years I have created a few videos of myself playing variations of gta on my pc.

Today while in the gtaforums threads I was reading about how each person wants to creat videos to play on the net.

EA Buys Euphoria engine? Rumor?

There is talk all over the net right now that EA games bought GTAIV game engine Euphoria.

Just Google it

What does this mean for the future of GTA ?

What does this mean for the future of Ea’s video games?

Are we about to see some really good EA games coming up? Does this mean the next True Crimes is actually going to be good?  Does this mean that Rockstar has a whole new better engine in mind?

Or is this a rumor?

Seems it broke on the 15th August 2008. So far all I see is people asking if it is true. As I amd doing.

Is It true?

GTAIV On pc Images Coming soon

http://www.videogaming247.com/2008/08/15/gta-iv-pc-to-be-shown-to-press-at-games-convention/

Sorry but  the writer on that site, lol. But as it says

We the regular public will not be at this gaming convention, it’s a

special invite only . As we know rockstar, they will probably be shooting us some screenies within a day or so of that convention…. wait, wouldn’t you just be best off  calling that a gaming meeting?

you can’t call a sepecial invite closed doors  gathering, a convention, but more like a meeting.

Let’s see if it turns out that EA shows up.
