Operation Black March

Operation Black March, if you haven’t heard. Is a call to the public around the world to not stand for the laws that are being created in every country.
The motive is to tell the people funding these law makers, that we will stop buying their products to fund them to fund the law makers.

Operation Black March

This is in response to sopa, pipa, acta and the like while the owners of megaupload were arrested, a judge in Florida shuts down a website for defamation and while France is going after Google because Google gives their maps away for free.

Many are comparing this to the gas boycotts and how useless those were.
Which that is a poor comparison.
Best explained as
by PpcLock on Reddit.

As similar as it may sound to the boycott gas thing.

It is very different and will have a definite impact.

The gas boycotts: last for one day, you will just get gas the next day, and the store will have one low day and one extremely high day. No loss

Media black outs : You don’t have to get media. You can make it to work and you will not be like a homeless guy at a buffet, when the blackout ends.

Operation Black March. An attempt to show the media content owners who pays their bills. and who should not be making the rules.

How you can help in Black March…

Sony Comment About SOPA

The Narcissist that I am. I look to see who linked to my site and my content. Just to see what people are interested in. and if I know much more on the topic than what I previously posted, I will see what I can do to give readers what they want.
Well I found a link to the Everquest forums on Sony’s website.

This is a moderator’s response to linking to my website and trying to inform people that Sony supports SOPA/PIPA

I’ll just leave this here.

At first read you shrugged a shoulder and thought how pointless this is because it’s a mod.

Read it again. Say that last line out. and listen to yourself saying it. Get it?

The Pirate Bay Talks SOPA PIPA

The pirate bay Released a message about the whole idea of Sopa and Pipa. This is exactly what I have mentioned before. but with better form than what I tend to write.
In sum, sopa is just to just to ensure the entertainment industry’s monopoly on entertainment media, by creating laws that prevent people from using a method of media distribution, than what they already hold the capitol over. We are not ran by a company, a company is funded by us, we like to have the option to say ” no the entertainment you offer us is not good, we are not paying for it” and if they need to up their game, they should. Because as a person who like a good movie, I will on any day pay to sit in a theater with a massive screen and an audio system I could never own or afford.
I don’t steal. and I don’t like paying for low quality agenda based, crap media.
From Reddit

INTERNETS, 18th of January 2012. PRESS RELEASE, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.

Over a century ago Thomas Edison got the patent for a device which would “do for the eye what the phonograph does for the ear”. He called it the Kinetoscope. He was not only amongst the first to record video, he was also the first person to own the copyright to a motion picture.

Because of Edisons patents for the motion pictures it was close to financially impossible to create motion pictures in the North american east coast. The movie studios therefor relocated to California, and founded what we today call Hollywood. The reason was mostly because there was no patent. There was also no copyright to speak of, so the studios could copy old stories and make movies out of them – like Fantasia, one of Disneys biggest hits ever.

So, the whole basis of this industry, that today is screaming about losing control over immaterial rights, is that they circumvented immaterial rights. They copied (or put in their terminology: “stole”) other peoples creative works, without paying for it. They did it in order to make a huge profit. Today, they’re all successful and most of the studios are on the Fortune 500 list of the richest companies in the world. Congratulations – it’s all based on being able to re-use other peoples creative works. And today they hold the rights to what other people create. If you want to get something released, you have to abide to their rules. The ones they created after circumventing other peoples rules.

The reason they are always complainting about “pirates” today is simple. We’ve done what they did. We circumvented the rules they created and created our own. We crushed their monopoly by giving people something more efficient. We allow people to have direct communication between eachother, circumventing the profitable middle man, that in some cases take over 107% of the profits (yes, you pay to work for them). It’s all based on the fact that we’re competition. We’ve proven that their existance in their current form is no longer needed. We’re just better than they are.

And the funny part is that our rules are very similar to the founding ideas of the USA. We fight for freedom of speech. We see all people as equal. We believe that the public, not the elite, should rule the nation. We believe that laws should be created to serve the public, not the rich corporations.

The Pirate Bay is truly an international community. The team is spread all over the globe – but we’ve stayed out of the USA. We have Swedish roots and a swedish friend said this: The word SOPA means “trash” in Swedish. The word PIPA means “a pipe” in Swedish. This is of course not a coincidence. They want to make the internet inte a one way pipe, with them at the top, shoving trash through the pipe down to the rest of us obedient consumers. The public opinion on this matter is clear. Ask anyone on the street and you’ll learn that noone wants to be fed with trash. Why the US government want the american people to be fed with trash is beyond our imagination but we hope that you will stop them, before we all drown.

SOPA can’t do anything to stop TPB. Worst case we’ll change top level domain from our current .org to one of the hundreds of other names that we already also use. In countries where TPB is blocked, China and Saudi Arabia springs to mind, they block hundreds of our domain names. And did it work? Not really. To fix the “problem of piracy” one should go to the source of the problem. The entertainment industry say they’re creating “culture” but what they really do is stuff like selling overpriced plushy dolls and making 11 year old girls become anorexic. Either from working in the factories that creates the dolls for basically no salary or by watching movies and tv shows that make them think that they’re fat.

In the great Sid Meiers computer game Civilization you can build Wonders of the world. One of the most powerful ones is Hollywood. With that you control all culture and media in the world. Rupert Murdoch was happy with MySpace and had no problems with their own piracy until it failed. Now he’s complainting that Google is the biggest source of piracy in the world – because he’s jealous. He wants to retain his mind control over people and clearly you’d get a more honest view of things on Wikipedia and Google than on Fox News.

Some facts (years, dates) are probably wrong in this press release. The reason is that we can’t access this information when Wikipedia is blacked out. Because of pressure from our failing competitors. We’re sorry for that.

THE PIRATE BAY, (K)2012

Does the Entertainment Industry control us? or are they controlled by profits from us?

FireFox App to boycott SOPA sponsors

Found this little gem while surfing REDDIT, it’s a firefox addon that lets you know when you hit a website that is owned by a company that sponsors or backs  SOPA . Once you get the notice that you have hit the website of someone who is against the freedom of speech, you can then decide whether to stay there and purchase an item, read an article or move on to their competitor.

1) Install addon [1] https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/boycott-plus/

2) Visit [2] https://boycottplus.org/campaign/sopa-and-protect-ip click “Subscribe”

I actually would like help hashing out a more proper campaign. I started on the list provided [3] http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/nl9e0/here_are_27_prosopa_major_tech_companies_who_has/

If you’re interested in helping out, send me a message here on reddit or through the mozilla addon support link. thanks!

Here is a list of companies that back the SOPA scam. I mean sopa law.

Again, I am against SOPA, simply for the reason that I want to be able to write a legit rant review about bad companies, and not have to worry about them suing me for informing you of bogus products. And I want to be certain that I will not get sued for saying a company name, while actually telling you the company is a good company.

SOPA Could Sopa Threaten Legitimate Reviews?

While looking at the list of Sopa Supporters, I can’t help but wonder what their motive is for supporting a law that is pitched to stop online piracy. There are shoe companies supporting SOPA. Shoe companies and wire makers.
One wire company is known for selling tv audio cables for $200+ While the quality of the audio from the cables doesn’t get any better than what is produced by the hardware they are connected to.  This leads to the whole post here. This company has tons of negative reviews for misleading people into buying a $200 cable that is no better than a $15 cable. If sopa is passed, then saying that company’s name would be an infringement on their intellectual property.

Means I can not tell you the name of the company and warn you who’s company to watch out for.

Is this what the planet has become? Slaves to a corporate world that tells us what we like and assures us it is the best available and does not let us say different?

I will personally boycott every company on that list I linked to. I am not suggesting that you do anything.

Just telling you what I am going to do.. Even if SOPA fails. We think it probably will not.

Stop SOPA Now

SOPA is a law that is described by the law makers as a method to stop piracy on the internet, by blocking websites and their domain name servers, along with the protect-ip law.
SOPA makes major labels, become the powers that be and prevents the independent labels from starting up on the web, because somewhere, anywhere, somehow, something has already been done before.
SOPA prevents people from reporting news independently and getting out real news without a mass media mentality.
SOPA prevents people from telling the world that they are being treated poorly by the governing bodies.
SOPA prevents speech and freedoms.
SOPA’s acronym states that it is to stop online piracy, but it’s build has little to nothing to do with piracy at all.

Law makers get a 9% approval at first hearing so they stated they would reschedule for 2012. Then they snuck in a a December 21st 2011.
Call your local news and tell them what is going on. We need the whole planet to know. You need to tell your friends. You need to email the news papers, the local news, the national news. If enough people do this, then the whole world knows. You have to prove that everyone knows what SOPA is up to and how crooked SOPA really is.
