Practicality and Smartwatches ?

The practicality of smartwatches might be the failure of smartwatches.
This is an industry that targets people who want to say they have the money to waste on an expensive device and not care about the safety of the device while purchasing it, then later comes the cases, because… you know… the chance you might drop it or something. but it can’t be just an old case. You’re poor and not cool if you don’t pay $50+ for an otter box or what ever over priced case is trending. It’s so trending that you can tell what phone someone has under their case, by the case they have in their hands.
So the watches being permanently fixed in a band, is failure. Especially if the band offers some sort of protection. What could be nice is if someone made some really over priced simple bands that are custom to fit only exact specific models. because, you know… choices are for poor people with bad taste.

The idea of a smartwatch is great. but they will never take off. Society is too focused on showing off their 25 inch Iwhatever or whateverPad. or 4 pound extremely brittle “cellphones”.

Smartwatches are way to practical. You may see a few thousand upper class gray BMW owners with suits wearing them and using them for real logical uses.
For the smartwatches to take off, they need to target the gold wearing tacky baggy clothes wearing Chrysler driving with massive useless rims while living in a 200 square foot wooden shack type people. because for some reason that lifestyle is popular.

Maybe if they give them spinny rims or write “beatz” on the side, they might sell out, and people might get shot every them like cell phones.

They need to be about the size of a current iphone and run up the arm.
Otherwise a smartwatch is just a calculator watch.

Hurricane Weather Watch Map Sites

Due to current events, I found it in our best interest if i post a link to the best and most informative hurricane watch sites.
Each one of these sites give you information that the other hurricane and weather watch sites don’t give you. and of course these maps are all on the Atlantic and gulf of Mexico. Mexico to Florida, Florida to Canada coast.
StormPulse Informative Weather map site with details about each city with in the path of the hurricane
National Weather Center I actually use this site quite often but lately i find myself using it a bit less as the other weather watch sites get better at showing you progress.
Weather underground Lots of images and moving satellite images let you watch what has happened up to now.
Accuweather
Great images let you see progress with plenty of interactiveness.

Power outages map

Stay safe and don’t let your food go bad.
When Houston goes without power, we go without gas and food, and that gets rough. If you haven’t got your fuel yet and you are less than 12 hours from the storm. You are probably better off just hunkering down and saving your fuel.. Don’t use your batteries up in your equipment on the first night. Go plug your cell phone in the car charger in your vehicle, because it will eat that battery up looking for a signal if the signal is low or minimal towers are powered.

Save the bread save the water. Get the pets some place that the loud sounds won’t disturb them so much.

Be resourceful. Generators use lots of fuel. Hurricanes do more than just what the storm can do while it’s beating up your city. The time you are without common resources, can put the current American at the edge.

Go pull up those solar powered yard lights you have. They have batteries in them and they will recharge after the storm. If you can get to Home depot or Walmart, those solar powered yard lights average between $1.99 and $15.The Walmart Here in Houston, has a larger selection of $1.99 varieties. I paid $2.99 for mine and they have rechargeable batteries in them. AA size in fact. Load up on them. Buy one and check it for batteries. If it has rechargeable in it, then buy up a few.. After the storm is over, you have a cool looking yard because they do double as security. I have a stack of AA batteries that I use for my razors and a camera. I have been recharging them for a month, for free. ;-)

This site is viewable by cell phone, and the comments area is wide open. If you can keep your cell phone charged during a power outage and want to come here for any news. Please feel free to post below, I will find what ever new I can get for you and respond quickly.

Top Ten Podcasters of the Year: TruXter’s Choice

Well the year has brought so much news to the tech world, Via podcasts. Since that is a media source, TruXter tech Review will list the choice of podcasters for 2009. From tenth place down to the number one spot.

These podcasts are not necessarily  all tech, it’s the means in which this media is brought to us that makes it tech. There is great talent and tons of devotion in these people, that is why they are making the list. There are some that are very talented but had no devotion or motivation to carry on this year as they had in the past years. So this year they will not be making it to this list. Some are great talent but a bit slacking this year so their scoring isn’t as wonderful as it could be. This post is not to bash, but show apreciation, keep that in mind if your or your favorite podcaster is not in the top 2.

There will be no award that can be given other than readers of this site, a chance to listen to the media on the podcaster’s site. So i hope they enjoy the notoriety, no matter how small the traffic might be or low the number of interested link followers their are.Well without further  blathering, this is the list of 2009’s podcasters we hope to hear more from during 2010.

If you know someone with a podcast that should have made the list, leave their link. If it’s your link please let me know. i will gladly listen to more than one episode. probably every episode you do within 2010. Just respond to this post.
