Verizon or Netflix throttling video streaming

So a guy decided to use a proxy (which he says is a vpn… but okay) to connect to Netflix to see if he can get his videos to stream faster.

This being his internet provider, which is Verizon is accused of slowing down video streaming via Netflix.
and Verizon is accusing Netflix of throttling the videos . (throttling means slowing down the downloads of media)

One of these two services is kind of “slowing down productivity” for a greedy motive.


This video could very well verify that someone is throttling the streaming speeds. Or the guy that uploaded it is a troll.

Throttling is illegal. been deemed illegal for a good five years. Consider it to be something that can be used for extortion. and here we have another problem.
Verizon and Comcast and a few other ISPs are pushing against Net Neutrality to enforce a “fast lane” streaming for companies that only allows fast streaming to their customers only available to websites that pay for “Fast lane”.

Meaning you pay your ISP for fast internet. It comes out of your pocket from your hard earned money. The video is on a site that pays their host for fast uploads so people can stream movies and music at fast speed. Now your ISP thinks they deserve money from the people streaming the video and you, or you will not be able to see the video any faster than the guy who pays less for a slower internet connection.

This is unfair to their customers and to the website owners/people streaming the videos. Such as Netflix or Youtube and the like. This wouldn’t even be fair if the ISP decided to charge everyone the same rate and give them the exact same speed at a super discount, then charge Netflix and youtube the difference. because… Netflix and youtube are already paying for their consumption through their host and their hosts ISP…

The Truth about What You Share on Facebook – but wait till you see what happens next

facebookThere is a current gullibility in Facebook that is an old media tactic to get readers and viewers.  Usually this tactic delivers an uneventful outcome and often is someone who embeds a video from YouTube into their page where they just talk about what is in the video. Instead of just linking you to the video it’s self. Instead they are trying to get their page shared to share the content of the YouTube video so the website owner can cash in on the hard work of the video maker.

Some people with good videos on YouTube, have advertisements in their video so they can be credit for their work in a manor that does not harm the viewers nor does it cost the viewers anything except a few seconds of their time as the advertisements load.

youtubeWhat you can do as a respecting person, is click the title of the video at the top left and that will take you to the YouTube page. share and like that. This gives more credit to the person who actually made the video. Not the leeches.

 

Let’s be honest, you really have no idea if the site with the video embedded in it, is trustworthy or not.

To many unfair people out there.
Only the internet should determine what is distasteful and disrespectful. So now that power is in your hands.

and yes I titled this like they do “wait till you see what’s inside”.

They broke Youtube Comments

I can not figure out how to comment on youtube videos.

I mean I can comment to the video, but how do you reply to the existing comments?
Some of them don’t even have a reply option.

Don’t they know that’s what people like about Youtube? Telling people off, or complimenting them.
It looks like they are forcing everyone to get a Google plus account and add every single person, otherwise, no one can get a much needed message out.
Looks like they are dooming themselves to fail like G+.

Google seriously does not understand what social networking is.

If people do not like Google Plus, forcing them to make a Google plus account to use your existing service, is going to bring you less people to your existing service. It will not bring you a magical more, you’re just reusing the same people that stick around after getting frustrated.

Should market G+ elsewhere. Not in your money maker. Or offer the old way along with Google plus, and just give fancy features to the people who use google plus to comment with

Facebook Down?

Everyone keeps asking “Facebook Down?”.
Well the answer is yes and no.

No Facebook is not getting hacked. Yes Facebook is running slow.
Simple reason. New changes. New additions to layouts coming and the bing merger. Looks like it is taking a bit longer and a lot more bandwidth to crawl all of us to save our information in Bing’s search.
So this is showing issue with hitting the submit to Facebook button on youtube, random news sites and friend’s sites and smart phone android/iphone/ipad apps.

go back to staring at your phone wondering why some facebooks just won’t connect.

Youtube Silent Drop of Embed feature for Videos

Even my own Videos on Youtube do this.

Now let’s look at the funny part of this new (lol not new) feature of Youtube.
Youtube is owned by google.
Google does not like iframes . Google has made this known for many years.
Youtube videos are now “embedded” via iframes now.

so this now means we can no longer write about a topic, and search youtube for someone who did a video on the content, and send that guy some traffic to his video and account for being a part of your presentation.

What is google/youtube thinking???

Everyone wants to be “Ask a Ninja”

This man did it before anyone. and still does it.

But what brought me to this “Why I Hate YouTube” post.
Stupid Video
YouTube is full of idiots just like that. What do I mean by that? He is some clown who sees what is popular on YouTube, so he uses what ever program he has to download someone else’s video from YouTube, cut the crap out of the video and turn a 5 minute video into a small 3 second segment of the actual footage. But he “talks” okay, he actually screams into the camera giving some stupid description of the video, then he plugs some other “viral video” from YouTube, maybe one that was popular last month or what ever just so “you know that he can relate”. Then the clown turns around and uses the same tags from the original video and adds more to the tags field to insure top rank, and then he titles the video similar to the original but tweaked a bit to ensure more clicks.

Sorry dude but your video starts out saying “Viral Video” right away, I don’t like you and I hate your scream thing you have going on in your video.
I don’t actually hate YouTube, I hate the fact they allow this to happen. They are doing it for the google ads. More power to you on collecting for your original work.. oh wait.. it’s not original. and it’s totally gaming Adsense and gaming Google’s search algorithm.
It’s the funding of these dill holes that is killing the income of the writers and news collectors and site owners and site designers who have original content that use the adsense market. It seems ever since they added the adsense feature to YouTube, the quality of YouTube videos has turned into regurgitated current news, while the pay and share of adsense has diminished.

Do a high pitched voice and act like your gender is unidentifiable? bug off with that.
Every single video on YouTube seems like some guy or girl commenting on a popular topic, they say one sentence with the camera back a bit, then they comment on their comment while making a wise crack about the comment, with the camera zoomed in, then they go back to camera one and say one sentence, one fricking sentence and then bam….. back to the zoomed in commenting on the last sentence.. What the heck ? !!!!! Do they all have to be like that? I mean, video after video after video, each one is the exact same format. STOP THAT, JUST STOP THAT!
Could you imagine if Friends used the same dull theme that Seinfeld used, or if Casper was like Popeye. Imagine if the whole world had no variety.

Please, if you are going to do something original, please use original content, and please try and add a taste of originality to your format.

Youtube Increases Video Time Limit

You now can upload 15 minute videos. Instead of 10
Cool now the people who pirate movies will be uploading only 4 videos for an hour instead of six.

no really, now my videos can be a little more thorough.
maybe that will stop all of the o.O flash stop and go news(wannabee) videos.
Gives them more time to do more stuff.

Youtube and itunes got Hacked

From the way it looks, by what this guy is saying about youtube and itunes get hacked, the bug is still not fixed.

Looks like all you have to do is type <script> in a comment and then a correct command code for a specified normal script to run, and you nail visitors with a pop up message that is scary. like one pop up says the victim is infected so to fix the issue is to delete a very important folder. Nice.

I have no idea who could have done such a thing G wiz that is nifty.

Sad part is knowing that Google owns youtube. and apple owns itunes. Google can locate them. Apple won’t let them getting busted be publicly known. In fact this is the first I read about it and it has been one week since the incident.

If by chance you have been under a log eating millimites for the past 6 years or so. Youtube is a place where people can upload a video to be served across the internet. For years it was basically like America’s funniest home videos and MTv meshed together.  sounds cool?  actually it kinda was. A zillion videos  of guys getting kicked in the junk and Metallica songs. But now there is a new world. Everyone on Youtube seems to be a news announcer. But they all seem to follow the same exact fashion. They record the entire news reel, then cut in scenes to animate the section. i don’t mean cartoons, I mean some sort of cartwheel or they pause the recording, then stick their face way into the camera and make a look of “uh hmm, I see what you are doing there” then they pause the video regain posture and start the video again carrying on the news as if they never stopped. On top of that, they do the whole dang thing talking/yelling at the top of their lungs. I mean really.. We do have volumes on the computer and on the speakers, you really do not have to yell. Welcome to the internet….. Moron….I can only watch about two or three of those videos before I start feeling like the world should have a law against mass repetition.

Example 1 done well… kinda . Seems to be a pretty good music blogger doing a video.

Example 2 , this kind makes me insane. It’s a (bare with me on this, it’s going to hurt when you try and wrap your head around how stupid and very useless this is) a guy, on youtube, telling you about a video on youtube. He actually put the words “raw footage” in the name and does not understand why people get offended when they see him in the video.

Example I know this video is new and very 4chan/reddit feeling. Good. That’s the way it used to be. You have to be on the news to know the news and the humor in it. It happens very very fast.

Ok, so what. This is a pointless rant. It will solve nothing. and the next re-run will take over sooner or later.

Just would be nice if they would do something new…. soon
