Back of G2

I am going to have to order myself a G2 and chunk my G1 in a drawer for a few months. Unless I really like the G2.

My only complaint or wish is I hope they aren’t all that brushed steel look. I hope there is a black brushed steel looking version of these phones.

Twitter Hacked Again

Twitter hacked….. again. This time it’s a hover issue. You hover over some spam, you retweet it.

Ok it’s fixed, we can all live again. Javascripting exploit.

Sorry all twitter is spam anyway. It’s what digg was becoming. Spam farm.

“Add me to twitter” is like saying “Here we want you to trendfully select us for your source of advertisements.”

Facebook Friend Request Ignore

Facebook has removed the Ignore option from the friend request area. It seems they have not set it to “not now” I assume this means it’s so you do not block the person completely but allows you to come back and add them later or lets them atleast talk to you . I have found that if you click the post that says ” you selected not now” somewhere near there it allows you to prevent the person from communicating with you ever again.

Since I get pretty foul on my other website, and I allow it to auto post on my facebook for my friends to see, I do not need minors or weak hearted people seeing my posts. I tend to rant there and well, it is not there for the pristine. I am not out to offend people with that site. otherwise I would just every single person on Facebook.
So this is a great option. Three selections/ Choices are better than two. most of the time. In this case. Three is better.

Uselessness Of Social Media

Social Media has slaughtered it’s self . Basically consumed it’s self by putting up it’s own defense.
The world is full of spammers. We as writers do not like spam on our sites. So we no longer allow people to put up links in their responses to posts. No link in their signature. Even if the person wrote a great related content reply on our site, we do not allow him/her to link back to their website. I myself think that if the guy is on topic and his writing brought light on a subject, he deserves to allow people to read more of his content. As long as it’s tasteful stuff.
It’s not like you can’t tell a spam link in your screening directory. they typically look like this or something similar.
How this kills it is, well if a website does not allow me to link to my website where I have written a 4500 word article on the subject, I am sure not linking back to them where they talk about the subject. So you read my page and never know there is another that is on the same subject, and possibly conflicting my opinion and making good or bad sense.
These sites get either larger and bought out by bigger news/media sites or just completely crushed incredibility.
This is what social media is facing right now. They are attacking themself inward meanwhile are under fire by the chronicles/posts/abc/cbs and other news media .

You have to link up the little guy, the little guy has to link you up.
It’s what works
It’s what keeps the little guy concerned about your next statement.

Netflix and Godaddy

Should both Netflix and Godaddy really be crammed down our throats every time we boot up our computers?
Have you ever been to their sites?
Netflix, they sponsor every dang podcast I listen to and every online video I watch. (well not all but many). Have you ever looked at the shows they offer on Netflix? I mean even Redbox has a larger, better and higher quality selection than Netflix. I truly do not like Redbox. I stop there all the time, smear my snot on the screen as I flip through the first page or so of videos and walk away feeling ashamed I did it again. Heck the Redbox movies are just a dollar and I can get up, grab one movie and be back home watching it, before it ever even comes out on Netflix. If it shows up there. mean while you hog up all of the bandwidth using Netflix and your spouse is mad and your kids are mad.

Godaddy. You ever decide you want to buy a domain name? Ever find that someone bought that domain name but never did anything with it? Yeah that person is typically on Godaddy. It’s like everyone found a place that has a known name and decided to buy from there. Kind of like Walmart. Everyone knows it’s there and the people that shop there, have no idea why you call their stuff crap. Well the people who buy up domain names and do nothing with them are called “squatters”. That name sounds a bit negative, right? Of course it does. It’s meant to. I mean you have a great idea for that domain name and that jerk has 700 domain names and does nothing with them. One of his domain names you have a brilliant idea and are not able to use it now. Now your Websitedesigner dot what ever domain name has to be 1websitedeigner1 dot what ever is available.

Cool they have a domain auction section on their site. That just further provokes even more people to just buy up random named domain names and sell them at scary high prices. Meanwhile their prices are no better than other domain registrars.

Would be nice if the ads would just lay up or be in relevant media.

What’s more likely to happen, I will end up renting a Netflix movie and find a Godaddy commercial at the beginning. Or register with godaddy and find a netflix ad in some banner I can’t remove from my site.

GOOGLE BALLS

Yesterday, Google slowed down productivity in every office around the world.
How? they altered their home page so that if you brought your mouse over the Google logo, it would shatter the logo into a bunch of colored balls.

It was to get attention so they can announce that they have an announcement coming.

Neat…………..

To bad all it did was give our salesmen something to dingle with while they were on the phone.

Google Revealed

Google is in control of plenty.
Email,
Phone,
Internet,
Web browser,
Operating System,

Google could be doing anything with the information they are capable of having. It is your blind faith and your imagination that tells you what Google will or will not do with this information.

Get a “Do Not Track Registry” Is the goal of this campaigne. But this really sounds like more confinement.

How about not forcing the government to regulate anything.

How about we just make the information these advertisement companies are requesting, unavailable to them.

They call that stuff addware and spyware.

Get your hosts file correct and empty your cookies and the information they request is cleared right back out.

This video actually looks like someone trying to make Google trip and scuff a knee so they can attack Google while they are down.

Zane Savage on Apple TV

Makes Sense to me.

Zanesavage | September 01, 2010

This device is a DOWNGRADE for anyone who currently owns an Apple TV. I like the price, I just don’t like the hardware.

Very Well put.
I like my media I want my media.
Least they can do is sell some of the New apple tvs come with multiple usb ports, That way you can watch home videos without needing yet another device hooked up to your television.
It looks cool. The concept is good. but the full end delivery is not up to my likings either.
Maybe they should call it the mini or the “budget apple tv” Wait, net flicks on apple???
but they don’t let anyone on their stuff right? Apple is screwy and it trips me out what mac people think is acceptable.
