What do you do when a websites asks you for your i.d. ?

Posted on2014/10/21AuthorTruXterLeave a comment

Simply put, get a fresh start.

Just build a new account. Until the chatsite, like facebook or twitter or reddit puts in the sign up page that you should send them your identification, then well friend, it really isn’t mandatory for you to upload your personal information to a very untrustworthy website.

Oh no, so you lost your friends on facebook?  and don’t want to start over?

That’s pretty petty and vein of you. If they know you then they will understand when you explain that your account is locked. I mean it’s no big deal. so what, you started over.

Or do you have a bunch of people you have been adding and keeping because the compliment you and fill some weird void you have? big deal, start over. You will not die and it feels good  to have a fresh start.

Don’t give in to that crap. If one site pulls it off successfully (meaning the whole planet is full of idiots) then all sites will do. Some will do it to pretend to be as troubled as Facebook (for example) pretends to be, others will ask for user identifications because they assume it is a law.

IT IS NOT REQUIRED BY LAW. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO UPLOAD YOUR IDENTIFICATION ONLINE TO USE A SITE. IF SAID SITE REQUIRES IT, GO TO ANOTHER SITE.

That wite will learn just how intrusive and disgusting it is to ask someone or force someone to send them their identification.

Remember folks, it is just a chat website after all. Where you talk to people you don’t know, about stuff that really didn’t happen as great as you pretend it does.

Those emails they start sending you about how you have messages (on facebook) after your account is locked, are fake. Your account is locked, no one can send you messages. The notifications tell you that your friends posted new crap. that is all. if you created a new account then you should get your friends back in no time, this time you can decide not to add some people.

How to Unlock Administrator Account without safemode

Posted on2014/02/132016/10/08AuthorTruXterLeave a comment

Do you need to boot to administrator and not want to go through safemode?

Open command prompt with a right click and select “run as administrator” and type this message in.
admin_cmd

C:\Windows\system32>net user administrator / active yes

and yes the spaces matter. This will

To turn administrator account off type this

C:\Windows\system32>net user administrator /active no

You can try this for extra accounts on your system that you no longer use and are sick of seeing in the log in window. This should disable each account from having a log in screen

C:\Windows\system32>net user (type in account name) /active no

Facebook Connect

Posted on2011/09/052011/09/05AuthorTruXter

Turn that stuff off. Why do you have facebook connect on your website if i still have to register to comment or participate? that’s what the facebook connect is for, so I don’t have to mess with that. Like facebook’s version f open id. but no, you idiots don’t even bother looking at what you are turning on, you just go and turn everything on with your tongue hanging out making the sounds like daffy duck.
TURN IT OFF IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT!

I hate clicking that and then finding out there is no way I can comment without signing up. Make me not want to come back to your waste of bandwidth for a website. That option is not there so we can show our friends and a bunch of strangers where our facebook accounts are, if we wanted that we would use the signature. It’s to make it easier to sign in….. Morons!

Oh and tech crunch, you weed out everyone who says anything that opposes your writer’s content. Except for the people who completely off topic and call you an idiot without explaining why. So don’t say the facebook thing is a filter for your site, it’s a way for you to troll and control information.

Hackers Exploit Facebook Tagging to reach more Victims

Posted on2011/04/11AuthorTruXter2 Comments

The Real Post about the Face Book Spider Bite scam video

Before going into this, please update your virus scanners now. If you do not have a virus scanner, I have a list of virus scanners below, all of them are free.

Okay back to fixing your facebook photo tagging virus issue.

Hackers Exploit Facebook Photo Tagging to reach more Victims. People are calling this scam the “Facebook Phototag Virus”.

The hacker or virus compromises someone’s Facebook account and then tags their friend’s names into photographs. All of their friends, and then at the footer of the picture is a link to the virus that compromises the account. This makes every single one of the friends of each person tagged, the next person to likely click the link. This of course would lead to hundreds of people per second likely to get this virus through feeling safe on Facebook, and being curious of this post from their friend.

facebook photo tag virus

bunch of tagged names in facebook

Here is another method of using the photo tag to spread the virus

Turn off tagging

facebook virus takes a 180
by using the same method above.
The very second you see one of your Friends or yourself tagged in a photo like that, report the picture as a scam. (it’s on the lower left of the page) and then msg your friend to change their password. Facebook will remove it and kill that link from their site.
Go into your privacy setting, click on Customize

Scroll down and disable these

Include me in “People Here Now” after I check in

Suggest photos of me to friends
Friends can check me in to Places

The old school Users of the internet have known since the start of TINY URL not to click a masked link. But it seems we have a whole new breed of suckers who think no one is out to be violent. Welcome to the real world Facebookers. Hey, it’s ok, we old schoolers fell for this stuff 10-15 years ago also.. In chatrooms and before that bulletin boards and before that, email. It happens with every sort of social interaction online. And every time it changes, the attack changes.
If anyone wants to add to this, feel free to comment below, any other tips than just my own, would be nice.
If anyone knows a good virus scanner, malware scanner post below. I can shoot a list like
*Norton
*Macafee
*avast
*avg
*A-Squared
*Spybot Search and Destroy
*kaspersky
*bitdefender
*f-secure
*CA Internet Security < — my favorite internet security software
*ClamAV
I have embedded a free online virus scanner on one of my pages for this but forgot to link it. It’s not too bad of a scanner either. It used to be called A-Squared until Emsisoft bought them out. And I think some German company got into them. The online virus scanner is more up to date than the downloaded scanner. and yes the downloaded virus scanner is free also.

Here is an old post I made a year or two ago about free virus scanners . all of these are free.

Be sure and scan your computer and then go back to facebook and change your password. or change your password from a safe virus free computer while you scan yours. If that is possible. Just no point in changing passwords if the intrude is still present.

For now Facebook is disabling commenting on posts, with links. So you can only share this directly to your own page or on the wall as a starter on your effected friend or in instant messenger. It will show until you hit refresh. Also as an act of fighting the photo tag virus, Facebook is crashing the images as the come up. “image not available”. until the scammers find a new image and message macro.

****Update****
The latest one is called “My Top 10 Stalkers”. Same junk, same stupid story.
Please turn off photo tagging for yourself so the virus quits tagging you in photos.. Just do it!
****Update****

**update 2.0**
Please repost this on your facebook account for the morons who are far too curious for their own good.

FYI, the girl did not kill herself on cam. She did not kill herself. She is not dead. The link is a virus. Simple enough for ya ?

That one is for the latest virus.
**update 2.0**

And now Facebook has a compatibility tagging that looks just like the virus, to show which of your friends you are most compatible with. Great.

The Facebook Virus takes a 180

Posted on2011/04/10AuthorTruXter1 Comment

The Real Post about the Face Book Spider Bite scam video

From what I see, everyone is calling this one the “Facebook who blocked you virus”.
Pretty simple I guess, explains it very well. Another method of getting a virus on Facebook
The facebook virus we all saw last month that said ” Wow I can’t believe I can really see who looked at my profile”, has now taken a complete turn around and now says
“Just saw who deleted and blocked me on facebook”
and then shows three faces with pad locks on them says 3 mutual friends, 1 mutual friend 6 mutual friends
and then below it says
“Check who has deleted or blocked you
See who your friends really are !
Check it at link in description”
Below the link is another image of the facebook logo with a circle with a hatch mark through it showing that it is anti facebook.
Then there is a bit.ly link. When you click that link. It’s over. Faster than you can hit the back button, your account is stolen and spamming the link out.
You will see this image on a person’s facebook page, and the virus of course tags the image with the name of every user who is a friend of the owner of the page, into this image, so you click it to see why your name is in that image, plus all of your friends see that you are tagged in an image so they look to see what the heck it’s all about, down below the image is a link to a virus that takes your account.

NEW FACEBOOK VIRUS

That, I would have to say is pretty spiffy of the hackers. Very creative. To bad they didn’t think of it before everyone predicted this would happen.

and another version where it tags your friends is like this

Try and not be so vain next time.. will ya

How to fix the Facebook virus issue.

Please start with running a virus scan. Any of a good selection of virus scanners will do. If one virus scanner does not find the Facebook virus, try another. There are many listed on that page.
If you can access another computer, please change your Facebook password from another computer while the scanning goes on.
and delete any posts that link to the virus. GO TO YOUR PROFILE TO SEE ALL THE POSTS YOU MADE. You have to delete them to do your part in containing the issue.

****Update****
This one has grown and morphed and changed to a photo tagging with a linked below it. making friends of everyone who is tagged, susceptible to getting the virus. They call it the facebook photo tagging virus.
Technically it’s not a virus until you click the link below the image. but really, a lot of people trust what’s going on in facebook.
And the team at facebook have started disabling the images and the links. but it kind of crashes a bit. It will still show the image for a while. click the ex to hide the image, but instead select “report spam”
Newer than the photo tagging is messaging someone’s page and saying they can get free stuff while it lasts. i think it’s apple or mac stuff. you know…. useless junk.

Personal Budget Software

Posted on2010/05/282010/05/29AuthorTech Review Man2 Comments

Personal Budget
It’s a software for personal use and monitoring and adjusting of budget and expenses. You can find PB located at www.tzisoft.com
I checked the software with many virus scanners. This software is safe. Feel Free to check the software yourself.

At a Glance

This program downloads as a 5.6mb executable file named “PBSetup.exe”. Once uncompressed you see “4.93 MB (5,173,248 bytes)” In the programs folder. When you flip down through the folders you find just an executable and an uninstaller. Kind of looks like a Stand Alone. None the less, the actual install is very very tiny.

Run Down

In the file option menu, you get a quick shortcut to your calculator. under Properties you see “update checking balance” and “update Loan balance” . In both you have the choice of  “Enable auto update” and “Don’t Ask”.  Under Option you can set a security key and you can change the background theme.

I  would like to see under the file area “Save as” Where you can export to excel or open office calc, And take the calculator option out and move it next to the Data page/calendar page  button. But it’s not my software and I can not make what this person made. So I completely appreciate it for what it is. I do hope the maker is working on a full paid version that fills up all of the dead space, completely full of buttons. Again, I know squat about budgeting. So what this software is and does is 10000 times more than I can do by myself. The reason for wanting to see way more options in the full version is so buyers can get more features and functions, and so the maker can get some revenue for what work has been done. From what I can tell, this is completely free software. So kudos!

The review

I am the last person in the world you want to do your bookkeeping or manage your budget. I can barely do mine. I just buy stuff and think  ‘ I might have enough… hope it takes a couple days before it goes through” or the extreme opposite ” ERm I think I’m out of cash and probably going to go overdraft so I’m not buying squat till payday”. I have been messing with this program for two days and already I see a massive change. I know what my balance is, what I owe on my vehicle and what my budget is. This is very easy to use software. I really do like it. I mean look, I am doing a positive review here.

Experiment

I have copied the Executable file from “C:\Program Files\TZISoft\Personal Budget\” and placed it on a thumb drive. I opened the thumb drive using my son’s computer, and there was all of my information that I typed in.This is great. so I can take this with me wherever I go and not have to lug around my computer.

Note to self: Never lose the thumb drive. Use the password feature noted before. by Selecting “security key”

My hat is off to this software builder at www.tzisoft.com I suggest you give it a try.

A Letter to Wamu-Chase

Posted on2009/05/08AuthorTech News4 Comments

I am upset with the measures of Washington Mutual’s online checking.
The past 2 months i am getting $150 in overdraft charges because their system has a crappy update and refresh. Why do they assure you they have online account status when what you get is just account related items. Let’s look at the word “status”
http://www.answers.com/topic/status There are 4 definitions. The fourth one is what we believe they mean, but it looks like the first is what protects them from a lawsuite.
Here is the letter i sent, angry and frustrated.

Message Sent: 05/08/2009 10:16 AM (Central Daylight Time)
Confirmation Number: ________________
Subject: Technical Problems

Platform: WinXP
Browser: Other
Internet Connection: Cable Modem
Why is it that your online checking status does not show charges for almost four days, unless you go over draft?

There is something fishy about the way this happens. is there a bug in your mysql db? If so i probably can fix this. Is your php script not functioning? or , just to go out on a huge limb here, is this the only way you make money ? i mean that is far fetched but it seems you are leeching on the poor. If you say you have online checking status, can you at least make it actual status? Really, why is there a “pending” and then weird limbo charges. should they all not be pending untill complete? the credit machine makes an query to verification, then it reports it’s charges, then it confirms.

I can build this junk, I do it all the time, but i am crappy at bookkeeping.

Maybe I should gather more information and make a blog about this and put advertisements around it and try and get my money back at your expense. sound fair?does to me.

I used their “message system”.
The best explanation i have recieved for this is “well our online status is not perfect”.
My response is ” You hold my money with the impression you can help me with poor book keeping, looks like your crummy ‘professional service’ requires me to save the receipt to every hot dog and coffee I buy, so basicly you do nothing but hold my money and charge me for trusting your software”.
The person replied “well the software is not mine”
My forehead bulged out, I felt like they just yelled ” I know you are but what am I” left me lost for words.

*************UPDATE**********
This is their response.

Dear TruXter:

Thanks for contacting WaMu, now a part of Chase!

A pending item is an item that has not yet posted but is held against
your account, and can include debit card transactions, pledges, deposit
holds, and other legal restraints. The Transaction History page for your
account on wamu.com displays only two types of pending items: A deposit
hold based on our funds availability policy; and, some but not all
pending Debit Card transactions held against your account.

The amount of the pending item transaction or hold reduces your
available balance and therefore is included in your available balance
amount on the “Your Account” page.

Pending items are not included as part of the running (ledger) balance
on the Transaction History page. You can continue to visit your
Transaction History Page to confirm when these items post to your
account, at which time they will be included in the running balance.

We have added these items to the Transaction History page to provide
additional account information to you. However, since these are only
some of your pending items, you need to continue to track all pending
account transactions.

For pending debit card transactions, the pending item typically posts to
your account within three business days. However, if a merchant does not
complete the transaction it will expire and the temporary charges will
be removed. Also, sometimes the pending transaction may be different
from the amount you anticipated because of an estimated authorization or
a tip. However, when your purchase posts, you will see the correct
amount.

Of course, if you ever see a pending transaction that for some reason
just doesn’t look right to you, give us a call at 800.xxx.xxxx and we’ll
be happy to assist you.

Sincerely
(name not needed)
WaMu Technical Support, now backed by the strength of JPMorgan Chase

Pretty Automated. They didn’t want to even read the thing and they just sent me a blur of a response.
Well it has been about 15 transactions and 9 days since I started timing them, still no updates yet.
My account has one pending item on it that has been there since before I started freaking out about the service. and yes I have plenty of cash in there.

What is wamu’s Motive?

Posted on2009/05/05AuthorTech News

I signed up to Washington mutual after a friend of mine suggested I give the online registration a try. I was really impressed with how easy it was to set up my account. My friend did not have a current back account for some reason or another so he had to go to a wamu in person and do his first deposit in person. I on the other hand have an account at another bank and it was a snap to use routing numbers blah blah yadda, and transfer funds to the wamu account. If I would have used a credit card, the least I could have transfered would have been $50. Since this is something I am “trying out” I do not want to flop around fifty freakin bucks. Ya know? really that is no issue at all, I completely (almost) understand .

So I go to my local Washington mutual and swing by to set up my atm card and deposit a little bit of money into my checking account, I did have a couple bills to pay and they where kinda on my way so I was going to just make a few rounds and get some stuff done. I handed the little blinky eyed dude my check and he suddenly bloated up on my and before I could say how much I wanted deposited and how much cash I needed he informed me they would be hanging on to my check for a week to verify that it is a legit check. I tell him and assure him that it is not a personal and point the difference… lol that ticked him off. :P

Well after a little bit of huffing we decided it would be in my best interest if I just went to my current bank and cash my check there and come back to wamu deposit what ever I want to, in cash. Ok he decided he was not going to help me and I suggested that I come back with cash for his ghetto bank.

What ever.

So that is what I did. I put a little in the free online checking and a little in the free online savings.

Now we all have seen teh commercials with a skinny dude and the butt load of snotty bankers who want to charge atm fees and check fees and all of that, right ?

Well now the story gets really good. I decide to go a month or so and not touch that account I was already ticked off pretty good. Before I leave work one I look into my account information at an atm… Just a balance inquiry, not a withdrawal. Should be no fees if there are NO atm fees. . hmmm $2 less than what I put into my account, why is this like this on my statement ?

I go home and check my balance and low and behold, Tadda, Washington mutual charged me for a balance inquiry. How do I know this? well I use that same atm who is through citibank, and not through my other bank, well I have used that atm for years on my other bank never a fee for just a balance inquiry, hell one of my friends from work uses wells Fargo and is never charged a fee. So I call Washington Mutual and see what the deal was, I call my wamu . The guy on the other end informs me he is not capable of helping me and that I need to call the help desk for the online. ok I call the 1800 or 188 number. after going through this endless circle of pressing one for English and two to speak to a human and getting forced into a f.a.q. section repeatedly I finally talk to a human, the lady on the other end tells me that it was the atm carrier that charged the fee.. nfw! I explain to her that I do and did my research before I do and did anything.. Ever. and she responds with ” you must be wrong” So I ask her for email address so I can send her a copy of my bank statement from the other bank. She told me that would not be necessary and I asked her “with that kind of response you do not care how right or wrong you might be, you are just certain that you are correct because you are saying what you are supposed to”. lol, she flipped out. I asked her if she was supposed to go ” all robot with pride” on me lol and she responded with “you’re an idiot’ and hung up on me. Ok maybe that was overboard of me but I was frustrated with their whole set up.

I call my buddy back and begin to tell him about the way I got charge an inquiry fee, I got all the way up to “hey man I went to check my balance” and he jumped all over the conversation with “I know man I checked mine and got charged 14.95 to look at my balance”

Now why in the blue hell did they charge him $14.95 and me $2 ?

Yes the fee carried over and is still there , yes it has been longer than a month and no they did not refund it after the statement and balance was complete. No there where no strange circumstances that would leave them a reason to penalize me or my friend for any activity. If I was supposed to do a chicken dance or bite the head off a bat or something I was not informed of this . I just know that the commercials are false and misleading.

Watch yourself on the fees.

The savings account is rocking though, I like the way you can just chunk your change in there and all is good in the world. that part is smooth and pretty. so if you get an account there , go for , may as well sign up for the savings, the interest is better than most bank’s c.d. accounts and does not penalize you for changing by withdrawal or deposits.

I have no idea how well they are with building business credit, business bank account, business checking account, business credit card , business money market. So good luck with that.

it’s kinda cool.

GLHF!

I did just talk to a representative and she explained that it is free checking with no atm fees….. for using atm at a wamu bank..

doesn’t every bank do that for you?

$35 for an over draft is pretty steep. I refuse to use their service ever again. Nickle and dime ya?…… nope they go straight to the 20s and 30s.

Online Checking Accounts Versus Walk-In Bank Accounts

Posted on2008/02/23AuthorTruXter3 Comments

As I have noticed, all the banks with online setup for checking and savings, have new “no minimal setups” and “no minimal deposits.” I have to say, the setup goes smoothly and you do not have to hand anything to a half wit and hope they do not fumble your investment money. You just make sure that you do not screw it up.

I have been charged 27 times for overdraft fees that never actually happened, 8 of them at one time. This set me back quite a bit of money, $216 to be exact. It all came out of one check and the day before my car note was due. After many hours of hearing “but you spent it.” and being transferred, I emailed a bank representative. I mean, they were saying it was because I went into the red, which is bull. Finally, I got someone with an IQ, and she said, “Oh, I see what happened. You should see a refund in three days.” Well, 12 phone calls and a month later, I still have not received my money back.

The whole “no nickel and dime” slogan rings true: Sure, they will not nickel and dime you; they will dollar and five you. They charge you $20+ to do a balance inquiry from another bank’s ATM. God forbid someone in a store checks the validity of your account by having you type in your PIN code. Sure, the checks are free.

(FOREIGN TRANSACTION FEE   -$0.05   )

That looks like a nickel to me.  I paid  for something online in Virginia.
Now, I have been using Prosperity Bank for a few years. I was going to that bank, back before it changed its name on me twice. I had issues with the way a few things changed, so I took out all of my money last year except for 95 cents. I went to an online checking account at a very popular bank, the one bank that tells of “No hassle” and they “won’t nickel and dime you.” BS! Well, as I am seeing things, I will go back to Prosperity Bank. See, I didn’t know what they were up against with everything changing around them, I guess I just needed to evolve with them or die out there on my own. This walk in only bank has accounts that have minimal amounts limitations or they charge you small fees. Luckily, I have an account older than the company’s logo, so I still have 100% free checking. The downside is, the checks cost me money.

Online checking = free checks, ATM fees out the yin-yang, no minimum savings, no lines to wait in when making adjustments to your account, and your security is as high as your encryptions.

Walk-in checking = costly checks, no fee to check your balance at any ATM, savings are $2000 minimal, and you have to wait in line to transfer money around accounts. Savings is a hassle.

Who in their right mind trusts a bank with a name that looks like “watch over ya” but pronounces it “walk over ya?”

How do I know this? well I use that same atm who is through citibank, and not through my other bank, well I have used that atm for years on my other bank never a fee for just a balance inquiry, hell one of my friends from work uses wells Fargo and is never charged a fee. So I call Washington utual and see what the deal was, I call my wamu . Ok maybe that was overboard of me but I was frustrated with thier whole set up.

I call my buddy back and begin to tell him about the way I got charge an inquiry fee, I got all the way up to “hey man I went to check my balance” and he jumped all over the conversation with “I know man I checked mine and got charged 14.95 to look at my balance”

Now why in the blue hell did they charge him $14.95 and me $2 ? well what ever.

Yes the fee carried over and is still there , yes it has been longer than a month and no they did not refund it after the statement and balance was complete. No there where no strange circumstances that would leave them a reason to penalize me or my friend for any activity. If I was suposed to do a chicken dance or bite the head off a bat or something I was not informed of this . I just know that the commercials are false and missleading.

GLHF!

I did just talk to a representitive and she explaine dthat it is free checking with no atm fees….. for using atm at a wamu bank..

doesn’t every bank do that for you?
