Someone found something happening on Reddit where mystery accounts make posts and then disappear, and top voted commenter accounts where created the same day that the original post was created.

This is Clearly an issue of a dude who wanted to get his video seen. The video could very well be fake. Maybe? bu the trick was to create a few accounts, upvote his video, get it viral. Make a few comments he came up with while he was editing the video and making the accounts. Made those comments for legitimacy reasons and then. Poof … instant money from Google adsense, via reddit.

The same issue used to come up on Digg.com. where only certain content could make it to the top and be seen by everyone, and all of the good stuff was getting buried

Google Adsense Goes Social

Google adsense will be rolling out new features. They will be adding a +1 for adsense for content Here is a letter from the adsense team.

Hello,

In the next month, we’ll introduce the +1 button and personal recommendations to display ads. The +1 button will begin to appear on AdSense for Content and AdSense for Mobile Content display ad formats — image, animated gif, and Flash. +1s will be one additional signal to help determine an ad’s relevance and we’ll continue to show the ads that will generate the most revenue for you.

We previously launched the +1 button on Google search and for publisher sites to make it easier for people to share and discover content across the web. Soon, your users will be able to endorse specific ads and make the ads more likely to appear to their social connections. We believe that these recommendations could help your readers notice ads on your site more, leading to higher returns for you over time.

If you prefer not to show the +1 buttons on display ads on your pages, you can opt out in your account. For more information please visit the Inside AdSense blog.

Will this be in the ads? will this be in the menu area? are they incorporating the affiliate network to the adsense? (I kind of hope so) . If not will they be adding the +1 button to the affiliate network so we the site owners have an easier selection of ads?
Will the adsense team knock penalties to content owners who +1 their own products?
Not much to tell from that one email but are great things to consider.
Great idea to a point then it falls short when you realize how people can be.

Myspace On The Bidding Block

The Largest most popular website ever is now up for sale. Yep the one that didn’t have a movie tell you it was the most popular site. The one that didn’t have a million movie stars tell you it was popular. It just was popular. It is now up for sale.

Could we now see a take over from Zuckerberg?

Either way, Facebook crushed Myspace two years ago with a heavy campaign “try me everyone else has” or ” love us because famous people love us” or the ever so funny one that makes me laugh when I see it ” I’m too cool for you to join my site, only cool funny people come here” tactics bombarded television and radio. and with every one of those came ” Stupid myspace, it’s so gay” meanwhile facebook is everything you hated about Myspace. Friends with 1000000001 requests to join their game, tons of spam, “here install this (virus) to see who is looking at your facebook account”. It’s all there . Everything that was on myspace is on facebook. But so many people got sold to the advertisements, they actually believed it was their opinion. And then News Cop (owners of Myspace) made a bonehead move and totally and completely bloated the website with some stupid top and bottom menu. Now there is no reason to stay there, you can not navigate that site.

So all we have now is the least Social Network, facbook.

Facebook Email Coming soon

Is the latest rumor of Facebook.

Facebook Now owns FB.COM. FB.Com is said now be the server of Facebook email. So soon you can your email delivered to yourname@fb.com.

Some people call this the Gmail Killer. Right now as it stands, fb.com redirects you to Facebook.com and if you type fb.com/yourname your browser will direct you to your account profile on Facebook.com. Great work on the Facebook team’s part covering that base.

Right now the whole Facebook email is just speculation and theory. To me it looks like the Facebook team is saying ” Screw you” to Google because they are large enough to not care if Google frowns upon multiple domains pointing to the same website. I really do not see the whole Facebook email thing happening. I would more suspect they will create their own search engine and go after Google that way. I don’t see that being very effect just as I don’t see Bing being very effective, unless they create an affiliate program so people can embed the search into their personal websites, I mean who would be so goofy as to want to put a search on their personal website, for free? Especially when Google pays you for that same act ? Google has it right.

But again, for now, all it looks like is that Facebook is making it even easier for people to use Facebook. And it could reduce the number of people who open a browser, click in the search bar (yes search bar, not the address bar) and type Facebook.com then click the top link in their search. but again, that is only speculation.

We will see what comes of this.

Mark Zuckerberg Rumored Buying Myspace

Story is that Mark Zuckerberg is buying Myspace.
I don’t see it happening. I see the chance that Mark and crew might implement even more stuff like Myspace content to their site, but not a buy out.
but the rumor says that Mark Zuckerberg and crew are going to bring it in, all Myspace links will still work, and there will be a slow gradual change of advertisements from Google adsense to the Facebook platform of advertisements.
Also within this rumor is the chatrooms will be brought back. Your existing Facebook profile and Myspace profiles will then merge, you have the option of which one . I doubt that. I see Facebook not wanting anything but their own.

I personally would like to see Myspace buy out yahoo or merge with Yahoo. and run Yahoo advertisements. Have you ever seen Yahoo’s chatrooms? Spam farm. They have no control of their own network.

I would also prefer to see MSN bring back their chatrooms and work more on their Myspace killer (lol) they started but never completed.
I would also like to see aim chat (or what ever in the heck aol used to have for their chatrooms)get in on this deal and use their servers or what ever is left of them

The more the choices we have, the more innovations we have and the more freedom to choose what network and what abilities we want to use and have. As of now there are still a few social sites that are sitting stale. Why not move them all up?

Warning!!! Facebook Dislike Button – Fake

This is sort ofr old news but I have some slow friends and I know you do to.
So when you run into one, send them a link to here.
and just to make it so you don’t look like a jerk for sendingthem here, smart people need this information!
There is a link to a “facebook dislike” both website and a button.
They are both fake and do not do what you want them to do.

So if you do not wnat your account spamming something out that is below your taste, and making your om, granny, ex-boyfriend think something about you that you do not want them to think about you.
Don’t think there is a new “Dislike”
It’s not real unless posted on the front page of facebook..

It’s just as much a fake as the old myspace gimmick “see who is reading your page”.
So many people fell for that vanity scam.

Uselessness Of Social Media

Social Media has slaughtered it’s self . Basically consumed it’s self by putting up it’s own defense.
The world is full of spammers. We as writers do not like spam on our sites. So we no longer allow people to put up links in their responses to posts. No link in their signature. Even if the person wrote a great related content reply on our site, we do not allow him/her to link back to their website. I myself think that if the guy is on topic and his writing brought light on a subject, he deserves to allow people to read more of his content. As long as it’s tasteful stuff.
It’s not like you can’t tell a spam link in your screening directory. they typically look like this or something similar.
How this kills it is, well if a website does not allow me to link to my website where I have written a 4500 word article on the subject, I am sure not linking back to them where they talk about the subject. So you read my page and never know there is another that is on the same subject, and possibly conflicting my opinion and making good or bad sense.
These sites get either larger and bought out by bigger news/media sites or just completely crushed incredibility.
This is what social media is facing right now. They are attacking themself inward meanwhile are under fire by the chronicles/posts/abc/cbs and other news media .

You have to link up the little guy, the little guy has to link you up.
It’s what works
It’s what keeps the little guy concerned about your next statement.

How to delete facebook accounts

There is a large number of techies talking about closing their Facebook accounts. I myself closed my account twice now. Both times it was right there when I logged in again. It was as if it was just paused for a little while. It’s very much not like WordPress. On WordPress if you close an account, you can never bring it back. No one can re-use that name, it is completely over at that point.

There are a few places talking about how to close the accounts. I personally do not think either will work.

Rumor has it that if you mention any of this on facebook, your post will get deleted. If you post it again your account will get deleted. That to me sounds like the only way to get your account deleted properly. :-) . Just be sure to clean everything off your account first.

I myself Have been thinking for a while that it probably should have happened a while back.
The big issue is everyone says that twitter has no market. Yes they do. It’s 100% plain simple advertisement already.
Twitter should have had adsense on the top of every page in the script from the start. they would have easily cleared as much money as google could offer by now. But they played it smart and pointed at nothing but keeping the users happy. Sad think is, whom ever is to purchase twitter, will have a goal different of the twitter group, so expect to see some changes. what made it popular will no longer be there. The freedom to post at no cost, without intrusive ads. We hoard to that kind of atmosphere. Now we all wait with our fingers on our twitter aps in our cell phones, and wonder when we have to uninstall it.
