Low Cost Unlimited Website Host

The webhost I use has been offering 2 years of website hosting for under $100. Through windows I call [[Unlimited Website Host]]. When you click that link, scroll to the bottom of the page. Prices are at the bottom.

When most webhosts charge you $140 (or close to give or take) a year, you must know that you are saving quite a penny by at least giving this place a try. They are fast. The email is imap or pop, your choice.
They are not saying hos much longer this deal will last but they did recently announce another deal. Typically that would mean all past deals would phase out soon. Though the new deal sounds great, I am not sure if my code will allow half off of the new deal. So you could land at paying slightly more than what I can get you.

I have been with this company for , coming up on 5 years now.  I am very pleased with their service and the quality of their operations. Customer service is easy to speak with and very quick at getting problems solved.

You will get unlimited bandwidth, unlimited storage, unlimited emails, unlimited ftp users. Anything I can think of, is unlimited.

I hope you give their [[Low cost Website Host]] a try and respond below about your experience with the company. Two years for less than $100, It’s worth a shot.

Yes I do get paid when you click the Powweb links on my website. And yes I do use Powweb’s service and I recommend it, to family, to friends, to anyone who wants to know what a good webhost is. I even got the company I work for on Powweb. I even have a few co-workwers on Powweb.

WordPress 3.3 Makes Changes

The New WordPress 3.3 has made some changes
Lots of changes. It looks as if the folks from WordPress have brought the top toolbar we just recently got, and added it to the side left menu we always had. This look a bit sleeker.
I am quite please with wordpress 3.3 , Even though I had a tiny panic attack and a bad hiccup on the update.

New Media Feature

New Media Feature

There is an updated media feature that allows you to drag and drop the files you are uploading, instead of searching all around your computer for them. I really wasn’t too bothered with the browse button.

The single media icon now launches the uploader
for all file types, and the new drag and drop
interface makes uploading a breeze.

I See the latest wordpress update also changed, the spot that you select image thumbnail sizes from when you are placing pictures on your website. Nothing big enough for me to need to take a screenshot for. you will see the option in your menu when you get around to it.
They added a “View Post” in the toolbar at the top of the screen that they nearly stripped for the menu on the left. In doing that, they removed the option to click your site’s name at the top of the page, to take you to your home page.

After that…. Meh.. nice. looks great. bit large and slow… but ok.
wordpress updated. We are now using wordpress 3.3. Plenty of nice looking features… ok two.. maybe three, bu they aren’t super useful, they kinda just force you to look for stuff.

WordPress 3.3 killed my log in

***update***

Everything below this point is just me trying to solve the issue of admin section of my wordpress website being down. My problem is solved. By manually downloading the latest version of wordpress. replacing all of the files in the new download EXCEPT FOR THE CONTENT FOLDER, OR ANYTHING IN IT. I repeat, do not replace or update or delete your content folder.
How I did it was I downloaded the latest wordpress from WordPress Update Site  and then followed these instructions “WordPress manual update howto”

To sum it up, I download the updated wordpress, extract the content. Of the files that I just extracted, I deleted the folder labeled “content” and then I just dragged and dropped the remaining files into my server, over writing the files on my website. after all was done, I was prompted to update the database. I clicked next, and then all was done. The admin panel got a bit of change. Looks quite nice.

Oh and I normally do the howto in the main section and save this page for news, but this kind of started out as news.

***update***

WordPress 3.3 killed my log in on my review site.
What in the heck do I do now?
I did the update, and was in maintenance mode for about 20 minutes. When it all came back up wp-admin was inaccessible.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_update_data() in /wp-admin/menu.php on line 34

So…. Now what ?

Is my website now just a news site ?

I found the Menu file in the Admin folder and found lines 33 and 34

33.if ( ! is_multisite() || is_super_admin() )
34. $update_data = wp_get_update_data();

Since they work together I just deleted both out. That fixed the issue with 34 but now came the error of line 148 with the same command as line 34

148. $update_data = wp_get_update_data();

I will now try and back up the menu.php file in admin folder and try and get a menu.php file from another one of my sites and just drop it in and see what happens.

Ok.. that was bad. It looked as if the CSS had crashed there also. So.. One last thing to back up and swap out.. and then I just pray that works. If not I restore and search the web some more.. Everyone on the web is saying disable the plugins page and themes. I tried that and it did not work for me. that is why I am doing it this way.
I switched the Meu file and all of the Css files for admin. Fail.
I re-uploaded the original css files and the menu file.
back to original error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_update_data() in /htdocs/wp-admin/menu.php on line 34

Now I am doing a full manual update. I wish I could do a down grade though.
WordPress manual update howto:

Meanwhile DIGGDIGG floating has been killing all of my websites. and they are all quite different from each other. I wonder if by disabling diggdigg all together (instead of taken from floating down to normal just to get it to work) will prevent this issue.
If anyone seeing this, is also using digg digg, please respond below, I guess it would answer some questions if someone who is not using diggdigg has the exact same problem, would respond below.
So far it looks like diggdigg might not be the issue, just a separate issue all it’s own.

Low Cost Website Host

I Use Powweb Domain and Website hosting. ( in that link, Scroll to the bottom and see what the cost is. [$95 bucks two years].)
Simply because the cost is very low, and the storage is UNLIMITED . When they say unlimited, they mean it. I have well over 40 gigs worth of work online. My friends and other web designers who share tips and ideas with me, download and upload files files from my servers ftp channels, all of the time, at no extra cost to me or to them.
When you first register, the cost is half of their regular low price. I recommend you sign up for two years of the web host service from powweb. One year of service is very low, but after that year is gone, you back to the regular price of (not specific or 100% correct) just under $130 a year. So you register for two years and you come out dirt cheap for two years. and won’t have to mess with your domain updating for another year. Plus, search engines love websites that look like they will be around a while. Click the Low Cost Webhost link and just look at the cost.
It’s near impossible to beat that price. Unlimited emails, unlimited php scripts, Ftp logins you can build as big of a website as you want, with no limitations. You can build your website or have someone build your website for you, and never once be told that you can’t do something. You are fully unlimited on powweb.
This isn’t any Go-whatever Website with spammy banners. Don’t want banners? Fine, don’t make them.

If you have any questions of how to build your website Feel free to see my Webmaster tools Use that and come back as often as you need. I have many tips for website building.

Mc Hammer and Wiredoo

The logo on Wiredoo Site

The logo on Wiredoo's Site

You have to give it up for MC Hammer (man I have no idea what his real name is), for his effort to use his own creativity, to bring in more money for himself.
Mc Hammer has announced that he will be launching his own search engine. The search engine will be called “WireDoo
Hammer’s Search engine is said to be based on relations. He says this will produce better results related to the content you are looking for. This is pretty much the way we all thought search engines worked anyway.
For now, WireDoo is a registration only. I registered and only got a notice that says “Thank you”.
Some of the code on the home page for WireDoo, looks a bit out dated. Hopefully Hammer knows this and did it on purpose. I have the best of hopes that if MC Hammer doesn’t, and this is the best he has, that people are volunteering to help him neat up his code for his final release of the search. That way in the end, when the world finally gets their first feel of the search, they will be blown away, and all of this is the ultimate publicity move for WireDoo.
Or, Mc Hammer gets paid millions from Google to buy out WireDoo.
Because this search engine, has the potential of a fast fiery death.
So far because of the way WireDoo looks right now, all of the posts on Mashable and TechCrunch are saying “Can’t Search This”. So yeah, the people have the guns out and already shooting this site down.

Reliant Energy Website Down

While trying to get a bill paid today, I found that Reliant’s website was down.
I thought “surely this is a mistake” I mean since they claim to be reliable.
I decided to go shopping and hoped to come back and pay my Reliant bill when I would get back home.
Now see. I am a bit behind on my payment so I am hoping the Reliant site comes back up soon.
Nope. Now they have a page that says they are down and will be back shortly.
but I noticed something.
Tell me if you see it.

Reliant Energy

Reliant Energy

do you see it?
Not like rolling around on the ground kicking your feet in the air funny. but enough to go “heh…. good eye dude”

No telling when they will be back up again.

Google to Drop Old Adsense Interface

The old adsense interface will be dropped soon. Yep that’s right, you will be shoved into the new one. Of course the new Adsense layout is quite informative and allows you to fine tune your Adsense ads, a little better. but the monitoring of page traffic is even less informative than the current, soon to be extinct page traffic.
You sure do get a whole lot more menus with the new Adsense user menu, but the question I have to ask is, why couldn’t they just ad the new to the old ? why drop what is existing and give us what is new and not have both? Just always seems fishy when we get shoved into acceptance like this. Somehow we just accept that things will never make sense and the lack of informative data replaced by bubbles and menus, is the rule of anything software.
Not saying I don’t like the new Adsense user interface, I don’t dislike it at all. Except for the traffic stats page just says “AdSense for Content” it does not show what ads, or where, while the old one already shows more information about site traffic, and well, that ones pretty slow too. but again, that traffic has to be verified and proven before it can count. And I completely get that. I think.

But . here’s the email I received today showing that the change is about to happen.

Hi,

Since releasing the new AdSense interface to all publishers, we’ve been continuously working to improve and support the new version. With that in mind, we’re writing to let you know that we’ll soon be retiring the old AdSense interface and asking all publishers to use the new interface.

If you haven’t already, we recommend switching to the new interface as soon as possible to familiarize yourself with the updated layout and new features. To do so, sign in and click the ‘Try the new AdSense interface’ link in the upper corner of your account. We understand that this adjustment may take some time, so you’ll still be able to toggle back and forth between the old and new interfaces during the coming weeks. You’ll see another notification in your account as we approach the date when this option will no longer be available.

As a reminder, the new AdSense interface offers additional insights in the form of detailed graphs and reports, new ad blocking controls, and increased efficiency through a visual redesign. We’ve now added many of your top-requested features — including the ability to create scheduled reports and view channels on the Home tab. We encourage you to watch our video tutorials at http://www.youtube.com/user/InsideAdSense#g/c/B067D355E59D96E0, which will guide you through completing common tasks in your account. You can also find detailed information in our Help Center for the new interface (http://www.google.com/adsense/support/as/).

With this transition, we’ll be able to focus on building new and improved features into the new interface more quickly. Thank you for your support, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

Okay, can we go ahead and add the affiliate market to the Adsense account? why do they have to be two separate sites?
When you finally make the move to the new interface, go to the allow & Block ads, that is probably the greatest thing since advertisements on websites, ever began.
I do have to say they held onto the old interface for quite a long time, and that is more than fair of Google.
Maybe someof the features of the old interface just aren’t compatible with the new.

WordPress Ifeature Theme Review

This theme has been the greatest them on wordpress I have ever used. Cyberchimps created the best theme yet.
but there is a downside. It is like the day after I posted on the cyberchimps facebook page, praise on how easy they made it to put ads at the top of the page, they sent out an update that killed the top banner option
version 1.2.1 allows you to put ads in. Version 2.0.5. does not.
IFeature Version 1.2.1 download can be found on WordPress website
The featured Articles option, though is a great concept, is a bit too tacky looking once activated. You can only activate the featured items option, if you pay for Ifeature.
Downside, is the upper banner area does not allow for a large banner. and it would be nice to change the color of the beam at the top of the page without having to use photoshop and they really could have repeated a smaller image for that. Would reduce that flicker when the page opens.
but, my over all score for Ifeature theme entirely:
9/10

Penny Bid Auctions are SCAMS

Penny auctions and and penny bid sites are straight up flat out scams. The clock will milk the penny, the penny will continue to role in and you will continue to lose your money to products that you will never win. The auction site will continue to profit and no one wins but the site owner. You don’t and I don’t personally know a single person who has won anything from any of those sites but there sure are hundreds of posts on the internet of ” I won from them and got a brand new car for $200″. Yeah? Who the heck are you?
Nothing more than an employee of the website, a search engine optimization dude trying to save face for the website he is working on, meanwhile helping scam the whole darn planet.

Look here to see what people are saying about the big one… Beezid

and more of the penny auction scams

Everyone is happy to find an alternative to EBAY. So they run to the penny auctions like they run to computerized slot machines. Nothing makes me hang my head more than that. but Ebay the once mighty and powerful money making website, where you profit, I profit and They profit is now just a place where they profit and no one is ever happy again. They own their money trading company that charges you per transaction, while they own a website that charges you per auction, based on the value of your auction, meanwhile also charges you for just the auction it’s self… I have no clue how they justify that other than “It’s my site I will do what ever I want”. So a person running an auction on ebay that uses paypal, gets hit up to three times (sometimes) per auction and pay out.Ebay got too greedy. decided that when they started losing users, they would make up the difference by cranking the price and making their existing users pay even more.
So everyone runs to the penny auctions. Why? because the penny auctions charge the bidders. Charge me to bid? How stupid do you look? No thank you.
Have you asked yourself one piece of the most logical question here? If everything sold on the website goes for less than a penny per dollar, who would be so stupid as to sell anything on a penny auction site? No one. The people selling the stuff do not exist. The items being sold, do not exist. You bid, you just paid the site owner because the clock keeps ticking, the clock just starts back over. And the penny costs you more than a penny (at almost all of the penny auctions) so you lose track of your cost. If that part in it’s self does not throw up redflags and you say “ehh it’s just change” then you are clearly the biggest tool of an idiot and exactly the moron they are looking for. You have a better chance of thinking how much you want to pay for said products, walk to the nearest wishing well and just chunks your money in and see if that product falls in your lap. Not very likely.
Penny auction sites are scams.
All of them.
Don’t be ripped off by them. Even if it’s just a couple bucks. Heck if you are just handing out money….
