What the Future will Say about Today’s Technology

As we find that theories change due to altering factors, we may find one day that these things that work today, may be so archaic in the future the people in the future will have no idea how we made this old junk actually function, or could wonder why we even bothered with such self destructive uselessness.

“They carried little radioactive devices in their pocket as a status of wealth and importance, but justified the expensive costs with a need to communicate RIGHT NOW?”.

I worry about the credibility one could hold if they go on record saying that some past theory is worthless because of some new findings. In most cases the new findings are based on findings that started from the original stated theory. In the future when it is explained would ruin the credibility of the current scientists.

Yes the past means old ways, but you wouldn’t have your current knowledge if it wasn’t based on original theories. Meaning a 25 year old theory isn’t wrong just because of new findings, Those new findings are just different outcomes and new circumstances that you might be looking at from some made up rules that you are pulling from another test. Yes, sometimes logic and rational knowledge would lead you to believe both have the same rules or one is the standard of rules of the other, but you can’t 100% verify that your previous finding is 100% the only outcome, but if you look at them both under the same rules you have a definable answer, until someone has the time to try a different but similar test with differing rules to get a whole different outcome. You can then come to acknowledge a whole new standard in science. Main factor is time, altering factor is funds. Your results are based on your funds, and your time to invest in the study.

200-2000 years from now, everything you think is the be all end all rule, will most likely be taught in the lowest grade of education and might be passed off as disoriented mythology.

Look back just 25 years ago. The people of that time dreamed of computers that were not even 1/100th the processing power of today’s computers. And those people thought that type of “futuristic” computer could power a flying car and solve diseases (much like what is proposed to be the purpose of tumbling), work artificial intelligence robots. We now know better. It will never work with that type of power. but at that time, the most intelligent minds of that era considered it possible. Can you truly think that 200 years from now, what our current highest held Scientific finding, will even be a drop in the bucket of ideas and logic?

One day or over a bit of time, some one (one representing thousands) will stand up and say “Oh heck, they have been looking at this completely wrong, all of that is useless”. And suddenly some weird or overlooked factor is brought into the picture and all previous findings are dismissed for a true result that proves 100% correctness from that point forward.

Coca Cola and Android

Coca Cola and Android team up to let you buy a coke for someone in another country, using Google translate to let you send the message you add in the language of their local language.

I guess it all depends on what you consider “the local language”.

It will get exploited.

Name these games

Just cleaned out my closet, and pulled out a box of games, and just wondering if people can identify any of these games or all of these games.
Let’s see how many of these video games you can identify and if you have ever played any of these games.

How many games in these pictures can you name?

Yes I know it’s the same games twice. One picture is blurry at bottom and the other is blurry at the top.
Makes identifying the video games nearly impossible. So I made it easier to identify each video game.
Does anyone remember playing these games?
Are any of these games hard to name ?

If you can say anything you remember from any of these games below, please do so.

About Windows Patches and Service Packs

Windows Update has always been a great offer from Microsoft. You can just click a shortcut and install teh latest drivers that have been accepted by Microsoft, for your computer. Along with driver updates, you also get software patches and security patches. Many of these updates could very well be needed. And with lots of Microsoft software, You can not use the software without having automatic updates turned on.

The issues I have, is that your computer is constantly checking for update, or on set specific dates you have automatic updates configured to always check. Usually found control panel, but labeled differently depending on what version of windows you are using. If you have an internet provider with a limited monthly bandwidth, automatic updates could cause some issues. I have been using windows since 3.11, and since updates came about, I found that my computers always run their best and their fastest when I do a fresh install, turn off automatic updates and personally go to all manufacturer sites and get the drivers myself. So far the only operating system service pack I have ever used that worked well, was xp service 3. The first two patches nearly left my computers (at the times) crawling and needing upgrades just to continue being useable.

I don’t believe that every security patch scare is for the reason they claim. Otherwise they would fully announce that windows genuine advantage, actually gave you a genuine advantage.

If I can’t use software I paid for, with updates turned off, then I will not buy any products form that provider again. Easier explained, I have wine installed to my Linux partition so I can run some tools along side of some of the Linux tools I have, and well, without some of what the software may be looking for, it will not run.

I claim that from here on out, I will never buy software that forces me to turn on automatic updates. I enjoy my computer running at full speed. You can do what ever you feel safe with.

Black March Has Begun

What is Black March.
The start of the month of no major labels has begun.
This is the month where you as the consumer, are to only make media purchases directly from the musicians. Independent sales from the musician to you.
This tells the major labels who tried to nail us with multiple anti-piracy laws, with the sad fact that they make products and we are the purchasers of the products. If we stop making purchases, then they are just people who make stuff for no reason. They do not make rules or laws that hamper alternative methods of media distribution.

The internet is becoming something beautiful, let’s not let them monetize our greatest world wide resource. Let’s not allow them to hamper our creativity, let’s not allow them to silence our voices.

Please put an effort to participating in Black March

Here are a few sites to visit for great Independent music.

Leap Year Virus 2012 ??

It seems that one of the viruses that I reported in one of my previous posts, that obtained on my computer at work, has been bit by the Leap Year Virus 2012.
Everything is running slow.
First clue was I got a notice about “iteratorutils.jsm:117” failed to start. That of course is not a sign of virus, it is a sign that something is running slow, since script time for Mozilla is 10 seconds, The computer is running so slow, it exceeded the 10 second script load time . Not perfect science but enough to get me alerted. Yesterday was a busy day. My computer was running at full speed, smooth and nice. I never once searched anything on the web. I just worked on my drawings and records. Today, slow. Everything is loading at a crawl.

I am now running scans but it seems Microsoft essentials has locked up. And the only thing I have that will run, is spybot search and destroy, and Rouge Killer (linked below). Rouge Killer did find a couple registry anomalies that were labeled regular stuff you would normally overlook, I deleted the instances anyway. My machine might not boot back up because of that. but it’s worth a shot. I am sure the I.T. guy here and I can get the office computer back up and I will report back here as to do or not do what I did. I am sure I have to reboot because what regestry was showing, is that 3 items were loading on start of the computer. Since my computer is still running, then the items are still running and I only removed what starts them.If I don’t report back before you read this….. Don’t do it!.

Will report back when I find more to see if there is an actual virus that has been dormant waiting for Leap Year 2012. Possibly bundled with Antivirus 2012

If you notice the same issues, Please describe below, and check back often. I will be updating this as the day progresses.

**update** Microsoft essentials finally finished update. Scanning now. but so far nothing is showing up.

***Update. I have no idea what happened, 3 hours into my work day, and my computer just started working normal. Reboots really slow now, but it works again.
No virus scanners found anything. So I have no clue if they just don’t have the virus signature yet, or if it was a fluke bug, or what.

What has Google plus Become

Google Plus is declared as a social experiment.
I have watched Google plus go from just extreme geeks exchanging tips, tricks, suggestions and information between each other, to podcaster spam, to what now seems like the coffee enthusiast college mind that has just woke up to how corrupt the world is.

Maybe not for everyone else, but for me, Google plus has become a website full of people who want to talk about the movement they are in, and to laugh as much as possible.

Google Plus has taken on a large crowd of intelligent people looking for more information and more people who want more views. This place is growing at a crazy fast rate. Google+ is everything that all of the past social sites have claimed to be, yet it still holds a bit of demeanor that says “I respect me”.

I am willing to see this thing through and see where it goes. I just hope Google doesn’t scrap the site before it gets it’s chance.

Google Or Comcast -Trust

Who do you trust more? Google or Comcast?
One is in your phone and in your web browser and in your toolbar and in your operating system and is very well known for saving your data.
The other is known for throttling bandwidth (implies already capable of filtering your traffic), feeding you super high speeds but setting ridiculously low monthly download max.

Who seems more like they have a scary trick up their sleeve?
