Latest exploit to facebook is the “Awesome, Which celebrity you look alike? : http://www.facebook.com/CelebslikeYou/app_XXXXXXXXXXXXX”

Looks like Facebook has allowed an ap in their network that is exploited. or extremely stupid. I just had 5 female friends fall for that dang thing, and there seems to be only three pictures that the ap uses to tell people they look like. There is no logic to the ap at all. Long face looks like round face, brown hair looks like blond, curly hair looks like straight. Wide eyes look like tiny eyes.

I am not sure if the ap has a virus in it or not, but it looks like it’s bogus and the ap is just used to get you to willingly give up your personal information.
One thing for certain, this is an Exploit in your gullibility.
Here’s how you remove all personal information access that this ap has tricked you out of.

look to the top right of your facebook page
Next to the word “Home” is a triangle pointing down. Click that and select “Privacy settings”.

Now move your mouse to where you see “edit settings” to the right of

Ads, Apps and Websites
Manage your settings for ads, apps, games and websites.

Click on edit settings.

Next you will see a small window section that says “Apps you use” on the right of that you will see “edit settings”

Click the edit settings button and delete everything you no longer care for, including the ap you just installed

Now would be a great time to change your Facebook password also.

You have to be the exact height you stated and your eyes have to be the “regular” position from top of the head. So if your forehead is a bit high, I would suggest you take it down a centimeter or so. You can get a pretty accurate reading . You are measuring the distance from where you stand, to the base of the object across the room. So, if you are measuring the distance to a wall, you need to point the sites on the spot where the wall meets the floor. Once you establish distance, you can then measure height. Works like smart meter but seem much more precise.

measure & sketch – this one has potential for something. but I couldn’t get a measurement. looks more like a designing tool than a measuring. actually looks like you take a photo of a space and start measuring available area to design in. Would be awesome if it would export to autodesk.(if I am correct as to what it does. but really, I haven’t a clue.. couldnt do much more than take a picture of the room.

distance and area measurement didn’t do anything but say “awaiting signal”

smart measure – got it right on the mark. no setting no configuration needed seems to work on the feature that repositions your screen to tell what angel you are holding the phone. the more straight up the phone, the further out. plus an obstructions are sensed by the camera. very nifty. error is you have to consider your distance from the base and the distance to the top and subtract your distance from the base to get the full height.

Twittoaster Calls it Quits

The owner of Twittoaster has called it quits.

He has begun the shutting down of his service. Your WordPress ap that automatically posts to twitter, will work no more.

Here is his farewell.

It seems the work was to much.

The ap writer was hired on with twitter last year and made an announcement that twittoaster would likely shut down. So today you get a notice in your WordPress script saying to update your twittoaster, after you update your twittoaster you get another notice it says

Twitoaster Plugin is deprecated! Please read this announcement for more information

When you visit the site and read the farewell and all of the responses, you sink into your chair. because you know, that things will soon be different, and you now know that you just lost a great ap for getting traffic to your website. You seo skills will have to be honed a bit better to the old ways.

Yet another great ap is dead. kind of like jaiku.

 

Paypal Android Bump App

Just by being at the correct menu and fulfilling the proper credentials, you can now bump your android phone to another android phone and make a payment of a specified amount.
Android application that allows paypal payment via a bump? lol now the pick pockets just have to bump into your phone? If you are a moron walking around looking for some who is ready to receive while you have a specified drop amount in hand.
What will this do for smuggling or laundering. Probably not much. Except when you see the Knux bump, It could in fact be an exchange of money. An accidental hand bump in a a crowded bus, airport, mall or what ever. You can then pretend to be someone that witnessed a spy transaction. Or you could be someone that really did witness one and just not wake up in the morning.
Well you can get your android bump ap and see who all out there is willing to test it out with you.

Let them have it. only a small group of people even know what foursquare is. This hoopla over how close the two products are, is probably the highest level of notoriety that Foursquare has ever seen. They probably just got a whopping 14 downloads in one day from curious people who just had to see WTF people are talking about.

See I have no idea how to spell 4square.. at all.. I can spell Gowalla, but I am a freak like that.

Fun Games For Android

The ultimate games for killing time while waiting for other things while in locations that you normally would be bored in.

Of course that is how I explain the use of such application. You can’t just install one. One game is over fast and you are out of stamina and health and all that other stuff, long before you have a chance to actually do anything. So installing each of those games you actually get extra bonus points for the the others. It’s like 20 points. These points are the ones you trade for goods. In most game companies you have to buy those points. So this helps a bit.

World War – build your armies and fight everyone that attacks you.

Vampires Live -build your vampire up and get a group of friends (the more friends the better) and get blood thirsty

Ninjas Live -build your ninja up and attack like crazy, defend like a mad man

iMobsters –  same as vampires but with a mobster theme.

Racing Live – build your car and get faster defense and wins.

Kingdoms Live – Same as world war but money comes slow.

This game is fun. One of the greatest cell phone creations was the invention of the Iphone and android phones. The act of using computer applications on your phone is an excellent time killer on a bus or in a cab or in the boss’s office getting chewed out.. Now comes the games and applications. Storm8 is the maker of many fun games for cell phones using Iphone apple tech and Android cell phone operating system.
If you play storm8 games such as Vampires Live, as I do. Then you want as many people in your group. As I do. So Invite everyone to leave their Vampires Live code with a simple response.

“Blapkmarket” pirated app Shut down

I do not understand some of the stupid fees people charge for some of the aps they sell.
I mean many people have completely justifiable fees for their software. Because they thought of something totally new to solve a problem they have been facing.
but have you tried a pdf reader yet? IMHO, the only people who should be able to charge for a pdf ap, are the ones who first created pdfs. I think it would be best if Foxit just made a free pdf reader for droid and made it available, to kill out all of the jerks charging for pdf readers. same thing for open office. Why is it that someone other than the inventors of excel, can charge for a program that reads excel files? IMHO that is pirating.
How about the hundred pay version of fake snake and pacman ?
If it is fake and not the inventor, why can this guy who compiled it (cloned for droid or what ever you call it) can charge for it? is that not plagiarism ?

but I did find one guy who made a voltage drop calculator, now that dude had a task and wanted to make it easier. He should get paid for his works, and get a gold medal!! lol.
I would bet that most of the people who’s “works” got pirated, can’t really press charges, because their stuff is a rip off of someone else’s work.

I do think it’s good the pirating site is down. because of all of the legit software, it needed to be shut down. I do have to say though, that almost everything I have tried to install on my phone that I needed, was trials for software that is a rip of some other software. Of course I did not install even the free trial.

Now these picks are not by some internet standards or by any other influence other than me seeing extreme use in them.

Shop Savvy Bar-code scanner. Yeah the results have not been up to what I expected but hey, they do offer a chance to look at the products on amazon and see what other people’s reviews are of the items.

Zxing scanner. Not near as good as shop savvy, but is another scanner so I have two to pick through. Choices are wonderful.

Cherry Rplayer – you can manually insert radio stations you like – I of course have ZRock in mine, because well they only have an iphone app and well I want to hear Zrock Dang it!

Opera Mini– because it does some stuff that google browser will not, like play myspace games right off their site, without need of an ap.

Pandora Radio – I love the way it lets you pick a music type and just ride with it. (audio out to audio in on my car, excellent sound.)

Digital Clock from Socialmobile , it’s like my back up alarm clock  (only use it while it’s on the charger though)

Twit.tv by Mediafly – all the Leo Laporte podcasts I can listen to.

Pretty much everything I have found, are just trials or do not live up to what they charge you, or just plain ol toys.
still waiting for Myspace Mobsters Android ap. Or a nice pdf viewer that costs no money and does not have trial period.. like foxit for Droid would be real nice. Mozilla Firefox for android would be nice. Hulu would be good.
Tv.com player would fricken rock if it had shows i like in full episodes. like Smallville Two and Half Men. but seems like everything that I like, is just 1 minutes snippets, really how much bandwidth could 300×200 really be ? They could soooo make some money from the ads, kinda like hulu does, if they would just do it . Youtube ap is great, but don’t hit pause, you freaking video fail every-time you do hit pause.
A-online radio has great features but it does not make the list. It just does not buffer very well. See Pandora radio isn’t as free roam as Aonline, but I can plug my G1 into my car stereo, turn on Pandora radio and let it play all the way from work to home. I plug in A-online and it plays for all of about 20 seconds. If it is not a buffer issue then the garbage shuts off every time the back light turns off. I know it’s one of the two and I can do nothing about either.

A Online Radio ap for For Android

This aplication is amazing. I love the thing. It shows speed of downloads, and volume of downloads. Hundreds if not Thousands of radio stations. I did not get to try them all. Just found the ones I wanted and I was good. I set my G! to use my Local area Wifi Network here at home ( I get 20mbs) and it streams to me from aol/winamp radio at an amazing rate. Since they use aol, they need to use aol video also.

I really like this application.
